Production designer of the movie "Up" a Filipino!

Here's another reason for me to be proud of being a Filipino.  I've read from the ABS CBN site a while ago that the Production Designer of the upcoming Pixar movie "Up" is a Filipino.  

He's name is Ricky Nierva, a native of San Diego. A young animator who, in 1997, was invited to join Pixar and his first work for them was for "Monster's Inc."

"Up" is Nierva's first movie as a production designer. The movie introduces Pixar's first major Asian-American character: Russell, the wilderness explorer.  Nierva said it was important to him as a Filipino to represent Russel in a positive way. Pixar even cast an Asian kid to give Russell his voice.

We are proud of you Ricky! Mabuhay ka!

Being a part of any animated movie was my husband's Greatest dream.  Right now, he's doing everything he can to be known in this field.  He always wish that someday his work will be recognized by these companies.  He feels excited everytime he hears this kind of news, he always says to himself,  "someday, my name will also be in the movie's credits." 

I hope his dream will come true a little sooner.

what ever happens in life we should always remember to live life to the fullest!
