Today I had chinese food for lunch. I opened up my box of food and ripped into the soy sauce. There before me sat the single most enraging reminder of life in America I was to witness all day. ALLERGEN WARNING: SOY, WHEAT - And I thought to myself…Seriously? Is this how brain dead we’ve become as a society? We have to be told that if we’re allergic to soy we might want to stay away from soy sauce? Enter the Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act of 2004 - Ridiculous. ( On a side note I was reading a few months back about some new laws being enacted and that the representatives were concerned about a lack of legislation in a certain area, and I thought, a LACK is a good thing, we have too many stupid laws in the country anyway. Free to do whatever you want as long as you don’t want to talk on your cellphone and drive, well ok you can talk on a cellphone IF you have a bluetooth headset, when talking on your cellphone, using one hand isn’t dangerous, it’s TALKING ON YOUR CELLPHONE that’s dangerous. OR YES you are free to drive anywhere you want, but you must put on a seat belt and the government of the California is telling ME what to do when inside my own vehicle, even though if I choose not to the only person at risk of injury is ME.)

America has become a place that cares so much for the people who are too stupid to take care of themselves on their own, and by protecting stupid people, we all become worse off every day. People are used to laws being made to make sure that they don’t blow their own heads off or kill themselves in auto accidents. People have stopped taking responsibility for themselves and instead when something bad happens, somebody stands up and says, THERE SHOULD BE A LAW ABOUT THIS. - I say, NO you should stop being so stupid. Everybody wants to regulate the Banking industry now, and I think well, yes the banks should have had better sense since they are using funds borrowed from their depositors, but everyone that’s in trouble right now made an effort to walk into or call into a bank and borrow money. Everyday I see people making poor decisions and I wonder why we keep making laws to protect these people. For instance, Bankruptcy Protection. If you’re too stupid to manage your finances, you should be forced to work it off. I hear people coming into my bank everyday asking if they can be fit into a loan mod product. They blame the banks, they blame the market, but I never hear anybody just step up to the plate and take on a little personal responsibility and just admit they made a mistake - Most feel no obligation to repay this money even though this represents an enormous loss to a financial institution.

My last few days at Bank of America, I had a woman walk in with a credit card balance of 32,000.00 that she was walking away from. She went bankrupt and moved back to Europe. She essentially stole 32,000.00 from Bank of America and she got away with it, scot free without penalty. I don’t understand why she was given a credit limit that high, or why she felt that she could handle that much debt, but Bank of America was stupid and greedy to give it to her and she was greedy and stupid for using it. I don’t know who is more stupid, the Bank of her, but both of them enrage me.

I live in the beautiful state of California and in this state you are barely free to walk yourself into the bathroom. You’d think, what’s the harm in putting some lights on my car? You’d think wrong, because in California the police officers here think it might confuse other drivers into thinking you’re an officer or an emergency response vehicle, even though you’re in a lowered japanese import and you’re lights are pink or green and not flashing or accompanied by blaring sirens.

They have a pre-approved list of guns you can own in this state. The other one’s are too dangerous. They’re GUNS for crying out loud, they’re supposed to be dangerous. HECK OF DANGEROUS. They are to protect your life, you need a dangerous gun for that. Assault Rifles are banned because they have “evil” features, even though you can buy a gun that does the exact same thing in the exact same way, it just doesn’t happen to look evil. Hand guns must have a loaded chamber indicator, must not be able to fire if a clip is not inserted, and must not hold more than 10 rounds, even though you can carry 50 clips in a backpack and it takes all of about 1.5 seconds to drop and reload. Why is the Desert Eagle .50AE un-approved for california, you can still buy the Smith and Wesson 500? Both shoot bullets big enough to rip a bear in half and the one you CAN buy is more powerful than the one you CAN’T buy, and the reason behind this is because Smith and Wesson put the gun through a drop test and paid some arbitrary fees and Magnum Research thought better of it. And a bunch of control freak bureaucrats sat around giving each other facials and talking about how smart they are for taking guns off the streets.

AND WHY DO WE HAVE TO PUT UP WITH THIS? Well because a few stupid people shot themselves or other people and the rest of us have to deal with it.

I am sick and tired of living my life with laws that were made to protect borderline retarded people from injuring themselves and others. I think if you don’t have the common sense to put on a seat belt, you deserve to have your face smashed into a window. I feel that if you are too stupid to remove bullets from your gun when you’re cleaning it, that you deserve to have accidental discharges, if you’re too stupid to have a bank account of a mortgage than go ahead and pay 15% adjustable rates and tons of NSF fees, learn how the system works or get out. This is a free market, or used to be. If BOFA wants to charge you 35 bucks for every nsf item, switch to a credit union, get a prepaid debit card, BALANCE YOUR CHECKBOOK.

SO THIS IS IT PEOPLE - Pay attention, take responsibility for yourself and use some common sense. IF you already do, then tell your friends to. Hold them to that standard, I am so irritated with making sure I have a seat belt on, at counting to 3 at stop signs and of reading soy allergen warnings on soy sauce packets. It seems like a small inconvenience, but it’s a constant bombardment. I am so sick of people’s never ending thoughtless all consuming greed, and then having to listen to them whine and complain about how they don’t have enough and how they aren’t happy and how their marriages are failing and how they were tricked by the greedy banks. Well when you’ve got a finger pointing at someone else, you’ve got four more pointing right back at you.
