Water Park Fun
waterpark We got to take our daugher to the water park for the first time. She loved it. She even crawled right under one of the sprinklers and just sat there. It was fun to watch her try to grab the water that was shooting out if the ground. She would try and pinch it. I am starting a photo series on my other blog at www.orlund.com called Little Mermaid. It is going to be done over this summer and is all about My little girl and her love for water. This is going to be a great summer. I hope ... Read Full Story
Baby Steps
My Daughter as just begun taking her first steps. After cheering her on, she gets so excited that she keeps trying to walk. It is amazing how just a little cheer and hand clap can help her accomplish so much. It makes me that about how we see and treat others. It is easy to get upset or frustrated when people miss up on the little things, when we think they should know better. It is easy to say things in a negative tone or action. How much more would people be able to do if we encouraged the... Read Full Story
The Great Return
Nearly three weeks since they left and now my wife and daughter have returned. My daughter could not let go of me, it was the greatest feeling ever. I kind of wondered how she would react after not seeing me for three weeks. It was not a fun night though. Since they came back from Thailand and the time difference is fourteen hours, night was day and day was night. I have been doing lots of overtime, just took a one day flight and haven’t slept much. Since my wife was sick I spent most o... Read Full Story
Finally Made It (100th Post).
My wife and daughter are visiting her mom in Thailand and I have been working plenty of overtime. So Dad’s Workbench has been a little quite lately. There hasn’t been much Dadish topics to write on since I don’t have a daughter to write about right now. Read Full Story
I Love Peanut Butter
Guess who loves peanut butter? My little girl. That’s right she takes after her dad. Forget putting in on toast, just eat it off the spoon. Eat it of the spoon like who? Her dad of course. The only difference between her and her dad? Two teeth and a missy face but we both give the same big smile for a spoon full of peanut butter. Read Full Story
The Dock Side Of Life
Life seems to only get busier. Each year I think about how “this summer” I plan to spend more of my evenings relaxing and spending the few precious months of nice heat. Each year it seems that there is more to do. Being a Dad, buying a new house and big projects at work don’t make the summer any longer. During the long weekend we went down to visit my wife’s relatives. I took a few shots that remind me of Norman Rockwell and of being a kid. It is nice to forget about ... Read Full Story
It’s A Party
What happens when you throw chocolate cake, kids and balloons into one room? Screaming, yelling, balls flying around and tired parents. Thank goodness my daughters first birthday party had only two one year old girls  (including her) and a  two month old baby girl. None of them can walk yet but they can get cake everywhere. First Birthday I still cannot believe she is one. Time goes by faster and faster the older I get. I am not even half way to retirement and already life feels like it is ... Read Full Story
Telus And Hell Merger
I heard of customer service problems with Telus (our phone company) but I didn’t really believe it. Now I am a believer, I believe that Telus and Hell are merging. At the vary least the devil and his crew run the customer service department. Let me give you a brief summary of a month in telephone hell. One week before we move we called our phone company to get everything setup at our new home and cancel our service in the place we were living in. We where told our new phone number and w... 5 Things I Love To Do With My Daughter
Here our my top 5 things I love to do with my daughter: 1. Chase her When my daughter is several feet away from me, I will make little chewing noises and slowly crawl on all fours toward her. I slowly get faster as she begins to try to crawl away as fast as she can. She tries so hard to get away that she ends up doing a billy flop on the floor and giggles face down in the carpet. Then I pretend to eat her up. 2. Squeeze her I love to scoop my daughter up and squeeze her. She used to try and w... Read Full Story
Dad, Check This Thing Out
What is the first thing a little child does in a new house? Go exploring of course. Our little girl found her way into our bedroom and then into our en suite. A nice new roll of toilet paper caught her eye and my camera caught her. Now if she would just learn how to use it that would be just fine with me. One thing she has just learned to do is shake her head when we say no. She even goes one step further and is starting to shake her head when she does agree with something. Usually it is whe...
