Monday’s really suck in our house. Since the boys are out of school on Monday all of their appointments are scheduled for Monday and they are not all in the same place or area. It seems we have to drive all day long to get from one appointment to another. Then we get home, cook dinner, eat and rush rush rush, bath time, family time and then bed time. But even with all the crap on Monday, I would never think of not having either boy in the house. I love them both very much.

The other day, Shane said something about Speedo’s and I said something about being embarrassed to be seen with him in Speedo’s, His reply was 100% typical Shane. “Why? My thing is big enough to make that bulge in them.” After that, I almost hit a telephone pole I was laughing so hard. Teenagers!

Our bulldog, Anika, had to get stitches in her upper front leg area and they had to put a cone on her neck to keep her from licking it. It is very funny to see Anika’s big block head inside that cone. It is so full of dog slobber and I almost pee’d myself laughing as she tried to eat. The best part is to watch her try to get out the dog door with it on. No way in hell she will make it through that.

OH CANADA!

About 200 U.S. military deserters in Canada are awaiting a decision as to whether they can take permanent residency there, a group says.

The Buffalo (N.Y.) News reported Sunday a resolution before the Canadian House of Commons would allow deserters.

A spokeswoman for the War Resisters Support Campaign in Toronto said she believes it’s likely Parliament will pass the resolution.

“I may be dreaming in color, but they have nothing to gain by deporting U.S. war resisters,” spokeswoman Michelle Robidoux was quoted as saying.

BULLET STOPPERS NEEDED!

The Army and Marine Corps are allowing convicted felons to serve in increasing numbers, newly released Department of Defense statistics show.

Recruits were allowed to enlist after having been convicted of crimes including assault, burglary, drug possession and making terrorist threats.

*** I thought we were fighting Terrorists not recruiting them. ***

The statistics were released by Rep. Henry Waxman, a California Democrat who chairs the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

Pentagon statistics show the Army granted 511 felony waivers in 2007, just over twice the 249 it granted the year before. The Army aims to recruit more than 80,000 new soldiers a year.

The Marines — which recruits fewer new service members each year than the Army — also reported a rise in waivers for felonies, with 350 granted in 2007, compared with 208 in 2006.

The Army defended its use of waivers as a response to a changing American society, arguing that only three in 10 Americans of military age “meet all our stringent medical, moral, aptitude or administrative requirements.”

*** My Gods, they took our friends son, Nate, into the Army, their requirements can’t be that stringent. ***

Pentagon statistics showed the Army allowed 106 convicted burglars to enlist in 2007, up from 36 the year before. It also granted waivers to 43 recruits convicted of aggravated assault that year, up from 33 a year before; and to 130 people convicted of possession of drugs other than marijuana, a rise from 71 in 2006.

It also allowed two people convicted of making terrorist or bomb threats to enlist in 2007, up from one the year before.

The Marines did not immediately respond to request for comment.

The Navy reported a slight decline in felony waivers, from 48 in 2006 to 42 in 2007. The Air Force said it granted no felony waivers in either year.
