AIDS
Overview: A community portal about AIDS with blogs, videos, and photos. According to Wikipedia.org: Acquired immune deficiency syndrome or acquired immunodeficiency syndrome is a collection of symptoms and infections in humans resulting from the specific damage to the immune system caused by the human immunodeficiency virus. The late stage of the condition leaves individuals prone to opportunistic infections and tumors. Although treatments for AIDS and HIV exist to slow the virus's progression, there is no known cure. HIV is transmitted through direct contact of a mucous membrane or the bloodstream with a bodily fluid containing HIV, such as blood, semen, vaginal fluid, preseminal fluid, and breast milk. This transmission can come in the form of anal, vaginal or oral sex, blood transfusion, contaminated hypodermic needles, exchange between mother and baby during pregnancy, childbirth, or breastfeeding, or other exposure to one of the above bodily fluids.

Humaning Trafficking Awareness
Overview: How many people really are aware of what trafficking is all about? As an over $7 Billion global industry, it's not all sex, drugs, and videotapes. Who are the victims? Anyone and everyone -- despite gender, race, or age -- are candidates for the human trafficking industry. Where and when are humans trafficked? Humans are trafficked from everywhere to everywhere. Most victims are from Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa, and Central America. Humans are trafficked on the streets, through global chains, and more commonly online through sites such as eBay and Craigslist. About 1.2 million of only children are trafficked annually. That does not include victims above 18 years-old. How are humans trafficked? There are several different industries that involve trafficking. There are 4 main general trafficking pools: 1)Sex industry (prostitution, stripping) 2)Domestic labor (housework, servants) 3)Sweatshop labor 4)Agricultural labor (farmhands, field workers) The goal of this Wikizine is to inform an audience of general readers and activist leaders about human trafficking, and enrage them to the point of spreading the word about this ever-increasing tragedy of supply and demand.
