Interior trends for 2010/2011-Southern Folk
French trend agency Nelly Rodi have released their 10/11 Fashion trends for the Copenhagen International Fashion Fair. One of my favourite predictions is the ‘Southern Folk’ trend. The colour palette contains hits of deep red and moody purple’s grounded by the colours of the dry South American landscape – Think ochre, clay & cactus greens. We have used some of their predictions within our moodboard and then added our own interpretation of the look.

As a stylist I thought it would be helpful for me to advice on how to put the above look together-or at least know where to begin! I think this scheme would look great either in an outdoor courtyard area or for a bedroom or living room. I understand that it might be a bit radical to paint your living room bright turquoise so what I would suggest is to pick one of the lighter hues from the paint swatch moodboard (the cappuccino colour would be great). Then introduce the bright Southern Folk colours with the accessories. Below are a selection of homewares from Graham & Green that would all work with the Southern Folk scheme: Twin set colorful Peacocks, Moroccan Leather Pouffes, Embroidered cushions
