The following is an e-mail from CPT. Jeffrey S. Porter, who is fighting for us in Afghanistan, right now. He is the father of six, and they are at home worrying and praying for him, as we all should be. This is his take on Senator Obama’s visit to “the troops”. Kind of a different take than what you will see on the news. Make of it what you will:
Hello everyone,
As you know I am not a very political person. I just wanted to pass along that Senator Obama came to Bagram Afghanistan for... Read Full Story

Ken Khachigian of the Wall Street Journal argues, in today’s publication, that no one really cares about the VP choice-(read it here). He says that the American people do not choose the main course based on the side dish. He says that the speculation comes as a result of sheer boredom for political pundits, junkies, and other presidential aficionados.
Heather Wilhelm, of Clear Politics, concedes some of Khachigian points but counters that the Veep can make for excitement during the general... Read Full Story

The Far Left kept saying all along that Al Qaeda was not in Iraq. Iraq was not a training ground for Al Qaeda and Iraq was not the main center of the war on Terrorism. Now, Obama says that the violence has lessened because the Iraqi people got fed up of Al Qaeda running their lives. So is this finally an admission that Al Qaeda is in Iraq? And would the Iraqi People have suddenly developed the courage and tenacity to fight back without the gains achieved by the surge that Obama said would... Read Full Story

Remember when the main talking point about Iraq was John McCain wanting to stay there for 100 years, if necessary. Remember how Obama got plenty of mileage out of that. Remember how the media went crazy with the story. It didn’t matter that McCain actually meant that we would need a presence of at least 100 years in the Middle East just to protect our interests and to protect our country from the continuous eruptions of violence in that part of the world. A US Military presence without any... Read Full Story

We have now seen the truth. Now we can say that the News media and the Print media are definitely rooting for Barack Obama, and they do not feel the need to hide the fact anymore. Now that the gloves are off, so to speak, can anyone say, “Fairness Doctrine”? Can anyone tell me how this blatant support for one side of the political debate squares with the Fairness Doctrine? The endless whining and groaning about how right wing radio talk show hosts control the political minds of some 35% of... Read Full Story

Democrats’ single most important domestic proposal - universal health insurance - may blow up in Barack Obama’s face when voters are exposed to the deadly details.
Obama has said, proudly and often, “I am going to give health insurance to 47 million Americans who are now without coverage.” But are they “Americans?”
That 47 million statistic includes illegal immigrants - who virtually all lack insurance. In fact, about one in four of those lacking insurance is... Read Full Story

I’ve done this once before, but I going to do it again. This post is going to be about why I think McCain should choose Mitt Romney as his running mate.
A running mate needs to be the best complement to the candidate’s capability and experience set. So, if the candidate was dumb enough to say once, a long time ago, that he didn’t know too much about the economy, then he needs someone who is fluent with the way the economy works. If the candidate doesn’t do very well with a teleprompter and he... Read Full Story

Published on TheHill.com on July 15, 2008.
After almost six weeks of a constant Obama lead, generally in the five to seven-point range, Scott Rasmussen’s daily tracking poll records two consecutive days of a tie race (July 12-13) and a one-point Obama lead on July 14. What happened to the Democrat’s lead?
Part of the slippage is Obama’s fault and part is McCain’s gain.
Obama has carried flip-flopping to new heights. In the space of a month and a half, this candidate - who we... Read Full Story

President Bush, yesterday, said that he would not presume to tell the American people how to conduct their lives. Great answer to a markedly stupid and leading liberal question about oil consumption. The President said that the American people were smart enough to make up their own minds about how much gas they could or would consume. Thank You, Mr. President!
The last thing we need is another Jimmy Carter telling us to stop consuming. The Latter Day Carter, Barack Obama, has already said... Read Full Story

Well, fellow Americans, you’re $3 is going to John McCain.
That must cause a fair amount of unhappiness amongst the liberally deranged Bush/Republican haters who checked the little box on their tax return giving three bucks to the Presidential Campaign, knowing, as they did then, that their guy was going to be noble and take public funds. But like so many other things, he’s made a switheroo.
He, too, alas, has feet of clay.
What I am saying is that if my three bucks were going to elect Obama... Read Full Story
