Obama’s 100 Year War…
Remember when the main talking point about Iraq was John McCain wanting to stay there for 100 years, if necessary. Remember how Obama got plenty of mileage out of that. Remember how the media went crazy with the story. It didn’t matter that McCain actually meant that we would need a presence of at least 100 years in the Middle East just to protect our interests and to protect our country from the continuous eruptions of violence in that part of the world. A US Military presence without any hostilities. Just like Germany, Korea, Japan, and Cuba. When was the last time there was a casualty in any of those places. That is what being there for 100 years means. As a matter of fact, I would bet that we will be more than 100 years. We will have brought troops back from Japan and Korea and Germany and we will still have troops in Iraq.
Now, Obama says that his withdrawal plan will take 16 months. But he will leave a presence there. If something blows up, he will be able to send the troops back. In other words a third Iraq war in two decades.
Remember what your teacher said to you in 5th grade: “It takes less time to do something correctly the first time than to go in and do it all over again.” So how long will Obama leave his military presence around? 98 years I’m betting. Maybe 97.5 years. Anything but 100 years. Not 100 years. We simply cannot have a military presence in Kuwait or Iraq for 100 years…..THAT would be against a campaign promise. That would be too much like John McCain’s plan and that would totally irritate Obama’s far left loon supporters, who are already watch the bloom fall off the rose……
