The winner of the most outrageous date contest was tough. Once again there were a lot of hilarious entries but we could not go with another tie (b/c this is a low budget blog) so I will post the story of the winner below. Read Full Story
Confusing Trends — part 1
From:  robsingleton.net
About 15 years ago a phenomenon hit that I can only describe like a defibrillator on a heart attack victim. Only there were a lot of victims—millions. The victims I’m talking about are Christian men. Their man cards were about 24 hours from being pulled, then the Promise Keeper paramedics arrived just as millions were getting ready to embrace the light. Read Full Story
But will they link back?
From:  robsingleton.net
Every blog showing here was linked on my blogroll, but only a few got picked up by technorati thus giving anyone credit beyond a blogroll showing. I believe our friend, jon swift had a great idea but would be gravely dissappointed to learn that so many got nothing out of it. Read Full Story
Champion(s) of the week!
From:  robsingleton.net
13 February 2008 Remember this? Champions of the week? Thought I’d blow the dust off this category and let you all know of some extremely servant-hearted folks gearing up to take the city of Monroe by storm! Each Saturday people from Southbrook Church head on down to the site of our Monroe Campus to help speed up the process of upfitting this exciting new worship venue. Some of you may not realize that this is not simply another church doing a “multi-site” but rather a full blown missional ... Read Full Story

A Death a Day — Part 2 continued

11 February 2008 Shameless plug: My wife has a great post today…really got me thinking. You can check it out here.   Wanna know what happens to these ‘barely breathin’ churches? Usually? Almost always? They dwindle… 120… 80… 50… 25… Can’t afford the utility bills… SOLD! to the first developer who wants to put up a high-rise or to a housing developer or perhaps for shopping center fodder. It doesn’t matter. The poi... Read Full Story
A Death a Week — Part 2
From:  robsingleton.net
10 February 2008 You’ve heard me say the following before, but let me remind you; “A church is not an organization, it’s an organism.” That means the church is alive. And that’s why all the descriptions of it are ‘living.’ The church is described as a body and the bride of Christ, among other things. When the Bible talks about the church it is not referring to the building down on 5th and Main. It’s talking about anywhere and everywhere that Christ followers gather to worship God. Thinking... Blog Interupted…
From:  robsingleton.net
First things first: Pardon the downtime on my “blogroll.” I use blogrolling.com and they have been down lately a lot more than they have been up. They “assure” all of us users that the problem will be resolved shortly. In the brief time I’ve had it, it’s gone down 3 times! I’m really beginning to hate, blogrolling.com. Anyone else having this problem? Read Full Story
A Death a Week
From:  robsingleton.net
Recently I had the opportunity to attend a blow out worship experience just for young people. Of course I’m a little biased as to why the worship was so good. It was one of our bands form Southbrook. They have been doing most of the music at this event for the last several weeks. Read Full Story
