He's not the Bard, he's a very naughty boy.
Yet another claim that Shakespeare didn't write Shakespeare but this time with a little more meat on it. The Claim to Fame lands this time on the shoulders of one Edward de Vere, 17th Earl of Oxford, whose writing style by all accounts fits 'Shakespeare's' to a tee. Some saying that his background and birthrightwould have given him the needed knowledge to write 'Shakespeare', more so, muchmoreso than the lowly William.BUT, the best bit of 'evidence' (at least I think so) is the discovery tha... Bennis Bulletin-Update.
Looks like The Bennis' campaign to get the , Armillary removed from the top of Banbury Road here in beautiful Stratford upon Avon is losing pace. Not only has The Bennis' offer of removing the Armillary (below) at no cost to the Public (me)...Sorry......fallen on deaf ears, but The Bennis' rather pathetic petition of just over one thousand signatures has also impressed no-one, leading to, some might say, actually giving the impression that more are for the sculpture than against. Ted suspect... Read Full Story
A Streetcar named Desire - 2nd Thoughts Theatre Company.
I was lucky enough thanks to a friend of mine, to get hold of a ticket for this production by Stratford's Second Thoughts Theatre group and I have to say, 'who was a lucky boy then?' I also have to say that (head hung in shame), I originally thought it would be fun to go just to listen to the Company mangle the American accents required. I stand corrected and I apologise for my arrogance. Not only were Second Thoughts extremely brave to take on this production that has in my view a quite comp... Read Full Story

Stratford Hibernates
The nuts have been gathered (and stored in the Town Hall). The tourists are making their ways slowly home and Stratford upon Avon starts to close its weary eye (like Cyclops it only has one). Autumn is here and it's time to rest, to sleep (perchance to... blah, blah, blah) and gird up our loins in anticipation of the Pantomime season...So quiet...But wait...here comes the Chain Ferry near empty but still going...Everything is beginning to sleep...everything is so...empty... online advertising... Church of England Crucifies the Wallbanks.
I must be getting old or something but I meant to write on this a week or so ago...anyway,The Wallbank family have lost their ongoing battle with the Church of England. I wont go over the whole sorry episode again, you can go HERE for that, but the Wallbanks have had to sell up the family home thanks to a medieval law that the CofE are insisting they (the Wallbanks ) abide by.Jesus must be revolving in his grave...(oh no...he's not dead is he? Sorry) online advertising Read Full Story
Stratford upon Avon Trees
More a tree lover than a tree hugger I have to say that nothing fails to amaze me more than the magnificence of some of the beauties that we have in and around Stratters, especially this time of the year when they are getting ready to shed their clothes...This monster (in the nicest possible way) is to be found in the RSC Gardens. And so is this one. This fantastic tree (centre), I had never noticed before until I took this photo of the building mayhem outside Stratford Railway station and sudd...
