While studying Michael Mann, I discovered in his film "Heat" that two of Moby's musical pieces were used. One is "God Moving Over the Face of the Waters" and the other is "New Dawn Fades". Recently, I had also seen the film "Control" and the documentary "Joy Division"; and heard their song of the same title. What I didn't know was that Moby's song was a remake of Joy Division's "New Dawn Fades". Moby's version sou... Read Full Story

My acting friend Russ Skains (a.k.a.Zud the Hut) and I recently took a film production class at LSUS in Shreveport, LA that was taught by director Jeffery Goodman who directed an independent film called "The Last Lullaby". What really stood out about Michael Mann's directing style is his use of music and sound. He prefers electronic music a great deal, however he applies whatever style of music which he feels will be the most effective. Whether that be electronic or acoustic. He... Read Full Story

We are currently working on a project which come to find out is similar to what John Cassavetes
did back in the 1960's with an acting group that he formed. His group
improvised on a project which honed their acting and film making
skills. He went on to become an accomplished actor and especially an
accomplished director. He was a mentor to Martin Scorsese. Our efforts are starting to pay off a little as we are becoming known in the area with the people such as Gregory Alan Williams

I mentioned my acting friend Jacob Tolano (Wood). He had a part in the "Last Lullaby", and he is anticipating the Christmas day release of "The Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons"
starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchet. Jacob plays an important
character called Martin Gateau. This is an exciting opportunity for him
to be a part of such an accomplished cast and massively budgeted movie
that is expected to garner a lot of interest. The movie was filmed
primarily in New Orleans. ... Read Full Story

I recently did a search on playlist.com looking for a song called "Far Behind", but I couldn't remember the name of the band. So, I typed in "Far Behind" and a number of hits came up. Most of the hits were for the band Candlebox which I then remembered was the group that performs this song. However what was interesting though, was that a number of other bands had a song by the same title; but are totally different songs. I listened to all of the versions, and liked som...
