Long Time No See, Huh?
Hey, all, I know it's been quite some time since I've posted anything but, I had to put a couple of things on the back burner for a time while I handled other issues. At any rate, I am back to posting again and sharing my thoughts with those of you who care to read them. I'll be back to my weekly schedule.   I have my website up and running now: site.scribereglyph.com. Yeah, I know it's backwards that my blog is scribereglyph.com and my actual website is a sub domain but,... Read Full Story
5.WRITING PROGRESS: Develop-World Development
Developing a world can seem like a very daunting task, especially when you are not sure where or how to begin. Many questions come to mind about world building but one of the most important ones are "How much of the world do you need to  develop?" And the answer,  "How much of the world do you really need?" Ultimately, like most things, it all depends on your story. Some stories do not require the development of an entire world because everything may t... Read Full Story
The Funny Thing About Places and Perspectives
I was leaving work one day and a funny thing came to mind. It's weird how certain places can make you feel  a certain way in one situation and yet totally different in another.   As I drove in my car, a clip from a random horror flick came to mind. What movie the clip comes from is not important, it was the felling it brought. Let's say someone was in their car and some kind of creature was outside trying to get in. The car seems flimsy and vulnerable. You figure the creatur... Read Full Story
SCRIBERE FAV: Friday the 13th
Friday the 13th is one of my all time favorite movies and one of the first horrors I ever watched as a child other than Halloween. When I found out that a remake was about to be release I was...intrigued.   How I found out about the movie was odd in itself, well, at least it was to me. I powered up my XBOX 360, logged on to XBOXLIVE and was about to play Gears of War 2 and I saw an advertisement for the 13 Days of Gears accompanied by the image of a familiar hockey mask.   Hey, tha... 4.WRITING PROCESS: Develop-Organization Development
Chances are, if I have more than a handful of characters in a story, one or more of those characters will represent an organization of some sort. Be it a religious sect, neighborhood watch, a gang of criminals, law enforcement, a ruling body,or even a chess club, they are all “organizations” one in the same. Some may bemore significant than others, but that really depends on what role they play inthe story.  Being thatan organization can play a role in a story, in my opinion, they are not tha... 3.WRITING PROCESS: Develop-Character Development
Sorry for the delay of this post. I've had a very busy week. Anyway, let's get on with it shall we? This is what I use to “flesh-out” my characters. It is a couple of key points that I feel covers all the bases in character development. First of all, I put my characters in three categories:   Primary Characters Without these characters, there would not be a story.   Secondary Characters: Characters who are close to the main characters, like sidekicks or henchmen. They are... Read Full Story

Vengeance in Bloom: Science and Technology Development, eh…no, not really
This week, I’ve been working on ViB and though I was supposed to be working on the sciences and technology featured in the story I didn’t do that at all. The reason for this is because I don’t really have any special technology in the story and any unique sciences I have, like the Card and Aura Magic of one of my characters, are already detailed within that characters particular file.   After visiting a couple of the LB&LI workshops this week, I’ve been going over my charact...
