Terrence Jones in the Nike Hoop Summit
Highly touted UW recruit, Terrence Jones starred for Team USA in the Nike Hoop Summit yesterday. Jones scored 15 points to help his team to victory. Starring for Team World was former UW recruit, Enes Kanter. Kanter led all scorers in this game with 34 points and 13 rebounds. There is no doubt in my mind the Huskies would have benefited right away from his presence, it is unfortunate Romar couldn't keep him.

Well here we are, losing 3 out of 4 to an Oakland A's team that was picked to finish in last place in the division. Our starting rotation has gone a total of 23 innings of 45. Our 6-man bullpen has a total ERA of 4.79, and has lost the lead for the team in 3 games.
The reliever with the most innings pitched, Jesus Colome, wasn't even with the team when the season started.
Instead of cutting a back-up DH to make room for Colome, the team cut their only viable backup outfielder, Ryan... Read Full Story

Time: 6:00 PM TV: Kong 6/16 Coming off of a 1-0 loss to the Red Bull at home the Seattle faithful and even the players were wondering where the finishing is and how they can get the balls into the back of the net. This was the focus of this week's practice and finishing all those opportunities that come from corners and free kicks. The addition of Pat Noonan definitely shows promise as he stepped on last game as a sub to provide an immediate presence for the Sounders, but he will need to... Read Full Story

Ken Griffey Jr. and Mike Sweeney were largely credited with having incredible positive effects on the clubhouse. This much is evident: not many teams carry players on their backs in celebration of finishing second and missing the playoffs, so there was clearly an effect there.
However, after las season, that was supposed to be it for them. Most thought that, having had his farewell tour, Griffey would step down after a long and storied Hall of Fame career.
Likewise, many people also... Read Full Story

Being a three-year Letterman and a trailblazer of the hybrid position “shooting center.”
Was He Any Good?
Ask any Husky Basketball fan, and the answer will be a resounding no. Jensen will be forever remembered for the nightmare moment when, during the NCAA tournament, he committed an ill-advised foul against UConn’s Marcus Williams. The Dawgs were up by four, and the foul on a breakaway basket allowed Conneticut to push the game into overtime and... Read Full Story

In honor of Lent ending (40 days without Coke was rough for me) here are five commandments to being your fantasy season. Consider these only slightly less holy than the original ten.
1. Thou shall consider the free agent pool one giant bench.
Don't restrict yourself to only what's on your team; play the match-ups. If you can start a half-decent
pitcher against Pittsburgh or Washington there's a good chance you will get a win out of it... Read Full Story

The Sounders second match against visting New York Redbulls ended in disappointment. An early goal from Kandji in the 21st minute stunned the Sounders and left them trailing for the remainder of the match.
The Sounders dominated the game with seventeen shots and twelve corner kicks but were unable to break through. Despite the dominating play, the passing from Seattle was sloppy. Both Levesque and Riley struggled to get off good passes and Brad Evans appeared... Read Full Story
