Somehow that should be a song, shouldn’t it? Anyway, I bought this totally cute little crewel project at an estate sale – I have a brazilian embroidery project to do that includes Turkey work and was warned off of it (and this is from some AMAZING stitchers). So, you know me, I had to have a go. First, I did the basics.
Then I watched the video:
Here’s my attempt at turkey work. Not bad. I have to say I LOVE crewel, it’s so forgiving. I think I’m headed to ebay to get another project... Read Full Story

I was catching up on some blog reading today and came across this post about “women’s art” by Sandra Dallas :
I love quilts. I appreciate the artistry and workmanship and the fact they are women’s art. But mostly, I love finding the secrets they tell. But I also love samplers, because like quilts, they have hidden stories.

I’m really happy with it and trying to decide if my next one (I have 3 towels) should be the same – or a slight variation or completely different. I’ve decided I LOVE coming up with embroidery from clip art designs.

Wow, I am SO behind. However, this is a look at the beginning lace class I took a few weeks ago. The good news is that the teacher is following up with another class, so maybe my next piece won’t look so bad! ha h
First, I want to thank Linda with the Rocky Mountain Lace Guild – who set up the classes and who made all of the paper bobbins – when I heard “paper bobbins” I had no idea what to expect, but look at how pretty these are:
Then we got our kits, which is a board and some thread... Read Full Story
