The weather outside couldn’t get any drearier, but Nicholas Kirkwood’s spring line instantly breathed some life into this shoe blogger’s life. The spring 2012 footwear collection is said to be inspired by florals and tropics from Kirkwood’s trip to Bali. While this is certainly a 180 degrees departure from his sexy, fierce style of past collections and collaborations, these botanical beauties are pieces I’d love to see growing in my closet.

I am not a person of extremes. I would never wear Louboutin’s Dafreak, even if they were given to me. I fantasize about purchasing Rick Owens wedge boots, but would never actually BUY them. For two reasons. 1) Putting me more than 6 inches above the ground is a disaster waiting to happen.
2) You get what you pay for, but you also have to pay for what you get. Buying a pair of shoes that cost more than my washing machine just makes no sense to me.

When looking at ad campaigns, I always look for Dolce & Gabbana. Their Spring 2012 Ads are no different. They center around scenes of Italian life showing the Dolce & Gabbana values: Italian spirit, tradition, family, love, passion.
These scenes are of events you would see every day in Italy: a first communion, afternoons at the beach, Sundays at home, family parties, the first boyfriend, and tender moments with the children.

OK, so I am a day late and a dollar short. This year Christmas came too fast for me. I got my tree up on the 20th, Mr. R5 got the flu Dec. 24th, I sent my cards on the 27th, and fell asleep at 8:30 New Year’s Eve. What a train wreck.
Anyways, I am infamous for my New Years Resolutions. They are always the same: lose weight, keep my house cleaner and have discipline with my shoe purchases. I never follow through. This year I am going to change things up a bit. This years... Read Full Story

In 2011, shoe designer Brian Atwood continued to be one of the top designers of choice on the red carpet. Atwood’s appropriately dubbed shoe, the ‘Maniac’, has everyone going bananas over them and he launch a (relatively) cheaper diffusion line of shoes called with much success. For all these reasons, Atwood’s got our pick for shoe designer of the year.
On a side note, Saks Fifth Avenue has a number of pairs of B by Brian Atwood shoes (including the boot above) at over 70% off and in... Read Full Story
