Clean Underwear and Your CPS
Has your mother ever asked you if you were wearing clean underwear?  If your mother was anything like mine, than you likely heard that question more times than you could ever possibly hope to count!  All through my childhood, that was one of her common mantras that she would ask in an authoritative manner on what seemed to be a daily basis.  This was especially true whenever I got in trouble or injured in some fashion and it is still true to this very day.But what in the world ... Et Tu XP SP3???
Microsoft done did it again! In 2000 they released Windows ME (Millenium Edition) - which is quite possibly their biggest flop ever - followed by a less than stellar full public release of Vista, now they gone and screwed up XP as well. More specifically, the third service pack release also known as SP3 has been causing almost as much grief and headaches for PC users as Vista! Can you say train wrecks galore? OK, all Shakespearian references to Julius Ceasar in the title of the article aside,... Read Full Story
Backups: Are They Necessary?
The past few days I have been combing the various online DJ communities looking for ideas of what to write about, when I came upon one thread discussing the need for backups. The same sort of question has been raised at one time or another on every online DJ community I can think of, so the question itself did not catch my eye as much as the high number of views and less than a handful of replies. Curious, I clicked on the link to take a peek at the conversation. One gentleman - presumably ra... Read Full Story
“Laptops Suck” - Part Duh!
Oh my gosh!
As a follow-up to my recent article - My First Official “Laptops Suck” Post - it would seem that a few folks are in need of a clarification on a few key points that I attempted to make slightly tongue-in-cheek. Perhaps it is because some laptop-lovers do not have much of a sense of humor or at least do not appreciate me poking some fun at their beloved portable devices, but no matter which way you slice it - some folks get it, some folks don’t. Which quite possibly brings us... Read Full Story
My First Official “Laptops Suck” Article
So the other day I am cruising one of many online DJ forums, reading the typical BS when I had a sudden epiphany - out of the sixteen (16) threads about computer DJing, thirteen (13) of them were about some schmuck having problems with his/her laptop! The other three comprised of two lazy nit-wits asking what everyone thought was the best software (presumably to load onto their equally lame laptop) and one poor soul who managed to pick up a trojan-horse virus on their home computer. Now asid... Read Full Story
New Wikizine For Computer DJs
In the course of looking for new ways to help promote my website and blog, I stumbled upon a means to create an online ‘magazine’ at Zimbio. I started submitting content from various articles I have written, which told me that there was no such topic of interest (at least on Zimbio) so I set up a new zine called “So You Wanna Go Digital - Common Sense for the Computer DJ”.Now the really great thing about the zine is that other users can contribute content to zine as we... A New Podcast Series With DJ Idea Sharing
In the next few days, I will be making a road trip on up to Connecticut to hang out with my friends Mike Fernino and Steve Fernino - founders of DJ Idea Sharing and now podcast personalities for the DJ Idea Sharing Podcasts - to record several episodes covering topics revolving around computers, computer DJing and of course my newest book.  It’s been a while since I have seen this dynamic duo, so when Steve contacted me to tell about the ideas that he and Mike were kicking aro...
