The Crazy Life of a Teenager
Well, it has been almost two weeks since my last post. I wanted to right but could never seem to find the time in this crazy life of mine. I started playing football this year. I used to play soccer then gave that up for several reasons. I realized that I needed more activities if I wanted to get into a college so I took up football. I have come to realize that it is possibly the biggest waste of time in the world. Here we are spending all this time practicing and working hard for nothing mor... Read Full Story
Homespun Days
So today is Homespun Days in the little old town of Zanesville. What used to be a fundraiser for a simple little church has now turned into the biggest garage sale on the planet. I can remember a time when we first moved here it was actually a very fun time. There were games and other activities that could be used to entertain children and it was basically like one big street fair. I have heard stories of how it used to be even before I moved here. It used to have music and all sorts of other... Read Full Story
The Cellular Phone Era
Ever since the dawn of time, mankind has always been in an era. Starting with the Stone Age all the way through the Information Age, which is our present era. The question I have is whats next. We have all sorts of new technologies out there and I was wondering what what the next era would be. I think that the next era is going to be the cell phone age. I don't know about other parts of the country but in my school just about everyone carries their cell phone around school. The thing is w... Read Full Story
Spanish
So I'm a High School student which means I need all the blow off classes I can get. I decided to take Spanish 1 last year and have moved on to taking Spanish 2, currently, and Spanish 3, next semester. I find the way that they teach Spanish in school ridiculous. We learn by basically memorizing words, learning how to conjugate verb, and make complete sentences. This is pointless because for the most part I won't have to know how to say a complete sentence to get my point across. I'... Read Full Story
The Olympics
So the Olympics are over and my dad and I have been talking about the flaws in the Games. People have been talking about different sports that are being removed or may be added to the Games. I believe they are focusing on the wrong sports.First what is this ridiculous sport called synchronized diving. If your not good enough to make it into diving by yourself then you shouldn't be in the Olympics. The second is the gymnastics portion. Now I'm not saying we should completely get rid of... Rock Music
My generation has a lot of things going for it. We tend to have a better knowledge of Technology, we have cells phones, and have way more information to live our lives by than ever before. Unfortunately, we have one major flaw, or at least it's major to me. When it comes to music most of my generation seems to lose all ability to think. Kids these days don't understand what makes up good music. I understand that some of it is taste but most if not all heavy metal is bad. I have never ... Read Full Story
School and the People It's Not Serving
I enjoy talking about this school thing because I, or at least i think so, have some good ideas about it. I understand that the state of Indiana has it's own ideas as to what we need to learn, and for the most part i completely agree with them. The problem are the extra elective classes. I'm sick of taking technology classes and finding out that everything I am doing in there will be something that for the most part i know what to do. There are no classes that actually teach me about ... Read Full Story
School
In this day and age most teachers use completely the wrong method for teaching. We teenagers use so many different forms of technology to communicate. Teachers use stuff such as chalkboards to teach us. Now some people wonder why some students don't do well in school or don't pay attention in class. I can tell you the problem exactly. The problem is it's not entertaining enough to keep them interested. Now I'm not saying that school should all be fun and games but there has to... Read Full Story
Wisdom
For the past couple of weeks my dad (a United Brethren Church pastor) has been talking about wisdom. Now the majority of the time I can simply drown him out but this was one thing that perked my interest. He talked about how when he's driving down the road and he sees a bad driving all he can think is, "Wow, what a horrible driving." He had been talking about empathy so i wasn't quite sure where this topic was headed. He then mentions teaching his kids to drive and how he ha... Read Full Story
Is it Pure Randomness or Pure Awesomness
I have come to find out the humor has evolved drastically over time. I remember when i was younger sitting and watching television and coming across the old Three Stooges show. I also remember looking at that and saying, "WoW i would love to be Mo!" Now that I'm older i listen to comedians such as Dane Cook, Daniel Tosh, or even Jim Gaffigan (Sorry for butchering that name) Don't get me wrong i love a good slapstick comedian but it's just not the style anymore. Abbot and... Read Full Story
