What Summer...

School was out last week and we are on our first week of summer break. Let me just say the "I'm bored" sentence is already flying with vengeance. I have learned to tune most of it out, but by the fiftieth time I kind of go nuts.

"K" has been on a feeding frenzy. I didn't know he could eat so much. A box of this a box of that, then lunch, then another box of something else. I asked, "are you bored or are you really hungry?" Of course he tells me that he is really hungry. With his intake he must have been seriously miserable at school. I can't imagine needing this much food in one day. "D" on the other hand has been like a puppet following "K" around. That is ok for a while then they start to fight. "He is following me, stop copying me, you're touching me, you broke it!" No, not necessarily in one rampant sentence, but as many times as I have heard them, they just kind of run together.

They will be starting the third grade in the fall. It is amazing how fast time really does go. Seems like we just started the new school year. I will be looking forward to going to the bus stop on August 24th to see the changes in all of the neighborhood kids as well as my own. It is interesting how you see subtle changes when your kids are standing next to other ones.
