Found Money

My husband is a frequent user of the public library system. He orders new release movies so that we don't have to pay to rent them or pay to see them in the theater. Of course, once in a while, there is just a movie that has to be seen in the theater to get the whole body shaking, noise blasting, popcorn eating, effects.

While he reserves all of those videos, the boys also like to get books to read. I love the fact that they like books and never discourage it. My son "K" went with dad this last trip to the library to pick out some books. He is more into the science fiction and scientist type books. Normal boys stuff.

He came in the door and was screaming and running around totally crazy. I couldn't see what he had in his hand except that it was green like money. What? I finally got him calmed down and he showed me what he had. I couldn't believe my eyes. That little boy had found a $100 dollar bill in one of the books. Now who uses money for bookmarks? He was soooo excited. I can't blame him. That is quite a bit of money for an 8 year old to have. Of course it was burning a huge hole in his pocket so we had to go to the store. He had his eye on some new Lego sets and was determined that the money would go for those. He ended up purchasing two sets. When all was said and done, that money was GONE. He was hoping for some leftover, but no such luck.

So we have our faith restored in reading books and the public library. You really do get a whole new experience with books.
