HMS Swift was a British sloop of war which was sank off Patagonia, Argentina in 1770. The vessel was conducting surveys around the Falklands/Malvinas Islands where she was based.

Another German WWII submarine located off the coast of Portsmouth, UK. Sitting in approx. 30 metres of water this is a fantastic dive.
However, in 2007 a number of human bones were uncovered on the wreck and reports were made of divers disturbing the remains and taking artifacts - so the wreck was designated a NO DIVE SITE and is now off limits to the general diving population.

The wreck of the Submarine U90 lies a few miles off the Portsmouth coast, UK.
The area is littered with wrecks from several hundred years of maritime history, including several German submarines.
The U90 is pretty much intact and upright, sitting in approx 34 metres of water and makes for a really great dive.

It is that time again when the Nautical Archaeology Society is calling for those interested in diving and research to combine their interests and skills to ‘Adopt-A-Wreck’.
The project has been long running and each year the standard of entries gets higher and higher. As does the material collected which is a valuable research tool for the NAS and other interested divers and historians.

Portsmouth is steeped in maritime history. From earliest times it has been used by mariners. It’s natural harbour offering a safe sanctuary and a staging point for trade routes and military campaigns.
We have recorded and know a lot about the various ships that have visited The Solent and surrounding areas but little is known about a vital piece of equipment carried by all ships - its anchor.
