I'm here in bed on day 3 of getting "back on suboxone" and I can honestly say this is a hell of a lot better than being on the awful opiate roller coaster. i just had a hysterectomy, 4 weeks ago, which was one of the best things I've ever done. Problem is, that being a chronic pain patient I have had very easy access to legal opiates, well mostly easy-since last year I admitted I was abusi... Read Full Story

I appreciate the fact you took the time to share your advise, and also for respecting my wishes not to be preached to. I understand what your saying, and it's all good advise for someone starting on working on them selves and not feeling like they can do it. The reason I'm so far done with everything is because I've tried every drug my insurance would cover in endless doses and combinations. I've been s... Read Full Story

My psych doctor prescribes me BOTH subutex AND a benzodiazepine (Klonopin). I have heard that you should not mix them, but he prescribes them both to me, and I do well on both of them. Interesting...

Thanks for the long and speedy reply. I absolutely love it when someone actually takes the time to read a post and reply to it so sufficiently. I know now that there can never be "Just one more time" for me with opiates. The urges I get only last a couple of minutes, and with the subutex I am able to push those feelings out of my mind pretty quickly. My psych doctor told me that ma... Read Full Story

Anyone else doing the counseling through telephone conversations with RB (the manufacturers of Suboxone)? Just curious. My husbands' doc is having him do this even though he has been part of his Suboxone program since March. Is this something everyone has to do or just a select few? I have heard nothing about this and I, too, take Suboxone. Hey, doc, you know anything about this? Anyone?... Read Full Story

Yes-- thank you for sharing your story. I encourage you and all people with addiction who are doing the right thing-- meaning taking the steps that truly work for you, to keep you from active addiction-- to open your mind to a new way of understanding your addiction. I remember those days of looking at my self in the mirror and cussing at myself-- you ADDICT, I would hiss-- truly hating myself for w... Read Full Story

Just my two cents....My husband and I are both on suboxone and we, in the beginning and sometimes still, wake up with extraordinarily stiff joints. It's mostly in the knuckles, ankles, wrists, knees. Too, our hands are far more prone to falling asleep, quite painfully so, now than they were before beginning this treatment. Neither he nor myself are on any other medications and this was n... CONCLUSIONS: HIV providers infrequently endorsed buprenorphine treatment in primary care for vignette patients. Generalist and African American providers and those with previous buprenorphine prescribing experience are more likely to endorse buprenorphine treatment in primary care. Targeting generalist and minority providers may be one strategy to promote effective integration of HIV care and opioid a... Read Full Story

Hello. I've been lurking here for a few months. Finally, felt compelled to POST! My induction was in July 2009. My hands have been going to SLEEP at night as well, primarily my left one! (I'm a lefty.) I went to an orthopedic HAND specialist, after having seen my GP. The ortho Dr. said it's my ulnar nerve....GP said probably carpal tunnel. Hubby said I was sleeping on my hands too, BUT...I said I've BEEN ... Read Full Story
