Go Away Mad and Go Away

The Former Minnesota Senator Norm Coleman who just wrapped up losing to Saturday Night Live comedian Al Franken in the 2008 long drawn out senate election. Is contemplating what to do next, the idea he came up with is to run for office again. This time he wants to take a run at the 2010 Minnesota governor’s race. When you are beat it is time to go away, when you lose it is best to go away for a while. If you do not go away, we cannot grow fonder. We would not think this is a bad idea except in 1998 he lost that race for governor to a wrestler turned politician Jesse Ventura. There is something to be said for the determination of a guy who that day after he loses to a comedian in the senate, 10 years after losing to a wrestler for governor that makes him push on. We think the best thing for Norm to do is find a bar stool order a draft and sit on the sidelines watching for a while. This is like they boxer who refuses to retire no matter how punch drunk they have become. The reality as Al Franken used to say on SNL, your old, unattractive, and the really don’t like you.
