Breakfast In Bed

Ok so, this morning I woke up extra late! And I do mean extra, not only that I wasn’t feeling well. Not bad or sick, just not well. I think in part because I over did it at the gym yesterday, because I totally freaked out because I gained 1.5 lbs and I had to find a way to get it off. Now, generally a conversation of a 1.5 lb weight gain with my husband would result in his complete and utter disdain…in other words, he wouldn’t care, buuuuuttt , yesterday he seemed a bit understanding and encouraging in a sweet but suspicious kind of way.
Ok, so back to what I was saying, anyway, when I woke up this morning (finally) I was just kind of laying there and then realized I hadn’t gotten the kids up or gotten them breakfast, just as I started to panic in walks my husband, who kindly walks over to my side of the bed and asked what COULD I eat for breakfast. Huh, I just kind of sat there with a blank stare because surely he knew that the kids had to eat breakfast and that my breakfast was on hold and then….I looked out into the kitchen and the children were sitting at the table eating their breakfast…OMG…not only that, he was asking what I COULD eat for breakfast, rather than making his normal eggs, pancakes, sausage, made in two pounds of butter, etc…. I mean don’t get me wrong it’s good, but when you are working off weight the temptations are just too great!
I was tooo excited that he was being so considerate, I told him that a small bowl of fruit and yogurt would work with a small cup of coffee w/little cream and sugar and tadaaaa….5 mins later he is serving me BREAKFAST IN BED!!!! It really made my day, I mean generally this type of special treatment is reserved for holidays or fevers of 103. But not today, he was just being sensitive and considerate, it was truly a blessing! Not only that, I peered from my room to see him sweeping up cereal from the floor where my 16 month old had knocked all of his breakfast ( his daily way of telling us he is done…boy will I be glad when he can talk)! At that moment he looked soooo YUMMY, (hubby that is) I could have just eaten him up! There is nothing hotter than a man cleaning the house!
As a matter of fact, I recently read an article on CNN that stated that amongst the most romantic things a man can do for his wife, housework tops the list. The article stated that it’s not the actual work that engineers the romance but rather the understanding and consideration for the wife’s responsibilities. It is the understanding that creates the intimacy, its like saying, I know I can’t do this all the time but for just a moment I understand your world. It’s the little things that really count. I just wanted to share with everyone how one small act of kindness and consideration can shape and mold a relationship. I am officially in love all over again!
1 Peter 3:7 - In the same way , you husbands must give honor to your wives. Treat her with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in God’s gift in new life. If you don’t treat her as you should, your prayers will be hindered. UH OH!!!! That goes for the ladies too! Make it a Yummy Day!
