Brain Farts R US errr . . Me

Well gang I did it! I fixed the issue with LULU having the wrong content file for Louis L’Amour: A Collector’s Bibliography. Yes, dummy me had a brain fart and deleted the wrong file. Thankfully it was still in the recycle bin so I was able to delete the incorrect file and upload the proper one. I can’t believe I did something so dumb!!

Everything is fixed now and the book is available once more. I told you this blog was going to capture some of the ups and downs of self-publishing and this is one of those ‘downs’!

So far marketing the book has been mainly this blog, message boards at the official Louis L’Amour website (www.louislamour.com) which is run by Louis’s son Beau, and trying to touch base with those who show up in my google alerts.

I have google alerts set up for anything to do with Louis L’Amour and I have been e-mailing/posting to those who seem to be fans. One of these took me to a persons blog where there was no contact information of any kind - no e-mail no nothin’ so I posted to the blog. You wouldn’t believe the nasty e-mail I got back! I was told to ‘go spam somebody else’ among other things. To me spamming is just mail outs regardless of the recipient. I am only sending e-mails/posting to those who have shown a definative interest in Louis L’amour but I guess that could be taken as spamming as well although I didn’t think of it that way. Ohwell, can’t please everybody all of the time.
