If it ain’t raining. . . it’s pourin’!

Well, how goes the battle today? I think I won ’cause I can post again! LOL My computer decided to lay Hide & Seek with my passwords so it became an intellectual war as I tried to remember which one I had used.

I received my first cheque from LULU yesterday for sales of Louis L’Amour: A Collectors Bibliography!! Can I call my self a REAL published author now? I did a typical yuppie thing too - took a photocopy of the cheque for framing :)  I still have to send copies over to the government archives this week - anything published in Canada requires two copies being sent into archival storage.

We are in the midst of finishing the basement in the house so that I can have my office and library. The basement is in complete disarray but it will be worth it in the end - I can quit sharing an office with my husband.

To add to the load I recently adopted a 3 yr old girl with black hair.  Here is her picture:

Her name is Song and she is a 3 yr old Standardbred mare whose previous owner decided to retire her from racing after she broke a pebble bone in her off-hind leg. She is sound but they didn’t want to risk it happening again. Their loss - MY gain

She is very sweet tempered, calm and willing to learn. While I don’t know a whole lot about Standardbreds, I have been around horses (mainly Quarter Horses and mustangs) all my life so training her is not a big issue for me. Quite a few of the others out at the barn have experience with Standardbreds  so I pick their brains as much as possible.
