England Women were crowned European 7s champions on Sunday in Bucharest after a 177 Final victory over reigning champions Spain.England lifted the trophy after running in an impressive 165 points over seven games and conceding just 26. The inaugural Victoria International Sevens rugby tournament began at UVics Wallace Field amid morning rain but the action was still fast and furious as Canada won the 5,000 first prize. The total purse was 10,000.The downpour had stopped by the time Canada defeated the top Fijian club side, Ratu Filise, 3519 in the championship game.We had a simple game plan and stuck to it.
