Chips package that keeps fingers clean

Idea on how one could eat a pack of french fries and not get his fingers all covered in oil was posted earlier: link.

Driven by the same intention I’ve come up with a similar idea for chips (or “crisps” in UK).

The new package consists of only one long strip of paper. The secret is in how it’s folded.

A rather long strip of paper can be folded in a shape of what I call a “flower.” You’d need something to hold it together in the middle (like a top of the “stem”) so that paper “petals” would stick out in all directions.

Gaps between petal could be used as containers for individual chips:

The amount and the length of petals control how strong this package holds each chip:

The ultimate test for the “tightness” is to put the package on its side on the table. If the chips are held together well enough, they won’t fall off. This package also prevents chips from being crushed into each other.

As chips would stick out of the package, they are easy to get out without hands: use your lips to grab one straight from the package!
