The kids have gone back to school. We've celebrated the last of the warm weather holidays, which is Labor Day. Halloween is past us, and Thanksgiving approaches. I don't even think one has to qualify as an animal lover to be moved to tears by seeing a starving, homeless animal digging through garbage cans. Or, to see a tiny kitten following it's mother through the snow in the dead of winter searching for shelter.
