The inaugural Algarve Historic Festival was held October 16-18, 2009 at the new Autódromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimao, Portugal. With 16 races for 12 Historic Racing Car categories, the Algarve Historic Festival was the biggest historic motor racing event ever held in Portugal and Spain.

LeMay – America’s Car Museum recently appointed two new directors to the board at the board meeting held last month. Moray Callum, Executive Director of Ford America Design and Richard Davis, President and CEO of Standard Parts Corporation were both named to the LeMay Museum board of directors during the meeting.

The final round of the Historic Sports Car Club (HSCC) Historic Saloon Cars took place October 17th, 2009 at the Silverstone National circuit. The HSCC Historic Saloon Car Championship is open to cars that were in series production before 1966.

Five very unique cars created by Detroit’s automakers are set for RM’s ‘Automobiles of Arizona’ event this coming January, including the 1954 Mercury XM-800 Dream Car, the 1956 Cadillac Maharani Motorama Show Car, a 1958 Cadillac Eldorado ‘Raindrop’ Dream Car, an all-original 1956 Chrysler Plainsman Concept Car by Ghia, presented in ‘as found’ condition, and the Lincoln Sentinel ‘Styling Buck’.
