Stumbled upon this natural hair video with this lady describing her great experience with using shea butter on her natural hair...too funny. Love the English accent and I nominate her for the next Herbal Essence natural hair shampoo commercial...lol. Shea butter just take me away...oohh, aahh...lol. It is great to see the growing number of black women just falling in love with their hair. Read Full Story
Here is the first 13 minutes of the film.
From the e-mail box:
"Dear Friends,
Over the past 18 months, we have shown our film For Our Sons to thousands of people across the country (and abroad), from Atlanta, Bermuda, California and Chicago, to DC, Ghana (Africa), New Jersey and throughout the 5 Boroughs that make up New York City.
It is clear from the high praise that it has received and the inspiration that it has produced that this film needs to be seen by a larger audience.

A priest once told me about this beautiful place and the Garifuna culture. I hope I will be able to see this place one day. Such beautiful music. There still is a significant number black people living in Central and South America and I often wonder what their life is like.
"A visual presentation of the new album by Andy Palacio & the Garifuna Colelctive entitled "Watina". Formed by members of the unique African-Indigenous Garifuna community of Central America, the Garifuna Collective pre... Read Full Story
This happened in Memphis, TN and Fox News reports the *mother* and aunt went to drop someone off in a car. One of the babies, 3-year old Ladareon Dunn has died, and Fox News reports:
"Two-year old Catareon Dunn remains in extremely critical condition at LeBonheur Children's Hospital. No charges have been filed against the mother and aunt of the children; however, the Memphis Police Department is still investigating the case."
Auntie of the Year is quoted by Fox News:

They were discussing the Rush Limbaugh NFL controversy. How did I miss this? I haven't been watching Bill O'Reilly lately. His show has not been as interesting as it used to be for quite some time. I used to could get Warren's show in Massachusetts. I hate logging on to try and listen online. His show is usually interesting, informative, and black community issues oriented.
At the end of this Bill O'Reilly interview Warren tells Juan that he can go back to the porch. This happens to ... Read Full Story
How many times have you heard someone with a teen daughter say, "If I ever catch a boy in my house I'll kill 'em?" I know I have heard something similar to that effect in the past, but you literally don't take people seriously. Since moving to Florida, I have noticed the news stories down here are crazy. News accounts say initially Mr. Edwards said he shot an intruder, then later the story changed. He is pictured above in handcuffs.
Technically, isn't the boy an intruder? Really sad thi... Read Full Story
Folks are still posting comments on Stacy and I see that there is a lot of Internet search activity. This was one of her early hits and if you were old enough you will remember this. She must have been around 14 or 15 years old. Back then, you could have hit tunes and not have to take off nearly all of your clothes, get booty and breast implants or have gimmicks to fool the public. Wish those days would come back real soon. Stumbled upon this one on YouTube. Loved this tune. Good memo... Read Full Story
What do we call this? A senior moment? Mature thugging?
According to MyFox Tampa Bay:
"Someone called St. Petersburg a "city of fascists."
Someone else yelled back, "why don't you move?"
Two men then approached each other, got into a struggle, and one ended up on the floor.
One of the men ended up in handcuffs and was led out of the building.
On the way out, he said his name was Ronald Deaton.
"I was attacked," he told FOX 13. "The city of St. Petersburg is violating our civil rights."

The show will be called 'I Can't Disconnect.' Unfortunately, the older addicts need not apply. There is always A&E; 'Intervention' if you are aged out of the chance of being a participant in this show. Glad I kicked my Internet *addiction* back in the late 90s after a few years of using AOL. =)
Quoting from Switched.com:
"For this episode, MTV wants people, aged 16 to 28, who are living in "fear of missing an email, tweet or text," or who have "problems with family, friends, co-workers, b... Read Full Story
