The Town of Bodega, CA
From:  thebaysedge.com
The town of Bodega, CA is about 5 miles inland from "At the Bay's Edge" in Bodega Bay. The biggest landmarks are the St. Theresa's Church and the Potter Schoolhouse. Both were featured in the movie "The Birds" by Alfred Hitchcock. Bodega is also home to numerous antique stores, a gallery, and many festivals throughout the year. The Brew Coffee Shop is a tiny, friendly cafe that serves excellent coffee and tea. On a nice day, seats out front are a good place to watch the people go by. ... Read Full Story

Rocker Oysterfellers in Valley Ford, CA
From:  thebaysedge.com
Rocker Oysterfellers in Valley Ford, CA is just 15 minutes from "At the Bay's Edge", in between Petaluma and Bodega Bay in Valley Ford. It's like an upscale saloon, and always a good time. Their food is both delicious and diverse....with (of course) oysters, clams and seafood playing a starring role, but they also have wonderful ribs, pulled pork, and jalapeno cornbread (not to be missed). I love living in Sonoma County....the food is just so delicious and diverse! Enjoy! Read Full Story

White Pelicans - A Must-See For Your Bodega Bay Vacation!
From:  thebaysedge.com
I know I've written about the White Pelicans here a lot....and with good reason, they're so unique and beautiful to watch. I put together a collage of photos that I took and made a video to show you some of my best shots. I love watching them, they're "dunkers" not divers like the brown pelicans. They glide swiftly across the water, and travel in large flocks, though they separate out to feed in smaller groups of 2-3. Anyway, enjoy the pictures and come see them for you... Read Full Story
Doran Beach in Bodega Bay
From:  thebaysedge.com
Doran Beach is one of my favorites...for so many reasons. Here's a picture from the south end of the beach, it's at a medium tide so we couldn't walk into the rocks. At lower tides it's fun to explore all the nooks and crannies. But either way, it's always beautiful. There are 2 miles of flat beach in a horseshoe shape. It's very popular because it's easy to access for surfers, kayakers, kiteflyers, horseback riding, walking, jogging, or just beachcombing. Read Full Story
