The Kings Theatre To Be Refurbished
The Kings Theatre in Bath Street Glasgow is to be refurbished at a cost of £7.2 million.Glasgow City Council is funding most of the work, but the theatre will be adding a £1 levy on each ticket sold to theatre-goers.The refurbishment will be in 7 phases and should be finished before the start of the 2014 Commonwealth Games.The Kings Theatre opened in 1904 and has been a popular venue for pantomime every Christmas. Elvis Spotted In The Glasgow Subway
Well, not just one, but about half a dozen in this subway carriage.These girls were spending their Saturday morning (3rd May 2008) dressing up for the charity, the Childrens Hospice. £8 Million is being spent on Glasgow's Subway to give it a brighter, fresher look.Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) want to make the Subway brighter, cleaner and safer for passengers.The ambitious plans for another circular subway route for the East End of Glasgow has been put on hold, due to the cost, an estimated £2.3 Billion.But the SPT are looking at plans for a line linking St Enoch's Station with stations at Bridgeton and Parkhead, and they hope to have it ready in tim...
