Works In Progress is now up on smashwords and is available for download!  I’m waiting until I get approved for the premium catalog before I post links.  I also spend some time learning how to format ebooks for Kindle and was able to successfully upload Works In Progress for Kindle.  I’m awaiting approval.  The site says approval takes between twenty-four and forty-eight hours.  I’m still waiting for my proof copy for the print version to arrive.  When I have it up on Amazon in both print and... The second version of a proof copy of Works in Progress has been shipped.  While I wait for it to arrive, I’m working on getting the formatting right to put the novel up on smashwords .   I have followed all of the guidelines, so here’s hoping that it’s accepted for the premium catalog.  From all the research I’ve done, it looks as if it’s best to do a separate kindle upload, so that is next on my list of things to do.  It will be nice when this book is up and available.  I’ll be able to... I haven’t been writing all that much lately.  My sequel is still sitting on my hard drive, half-done.  But, I am very close to getting the first book up on Amazon and having it for sale here on my blog. I order the proof copy and found a few things wrong with the cover.  I also spelled my best friend’s name wrong in the dedication.  *sigh*  She’s the greatest crit-partner and proofreader.  She found the error.  So, I resent the interior and cover files with corrections made.  It’s been... A New Book Cover For Works In Progress

I’ve decided to self-publish my young adult novel using CreateSpace.  It took me two days to get the formatting for the book correct in MSWord.  I decided to use a new cover, even though I created a cover for it a long time ago.  I like this new one better.  I’m just waiting to hear from CreateSpace within the next 48 hours, and if they approved the cover and interior files, I’ll be ordering a proof copy soon.  I guess this means I’m going to have to do a lot of research on promoting my book... Gems: Editing That Diamond. From Rough Draft to Polished Manuscript Part III
| From : writerpatty.com

So far, we have done the big picture editing, where we add, subtract or move bits and pieces around.  We have worked on writing style issues, such as variety, dialogue and imagery.  That leaves us with the final inspection. The final inspection in diamond editing involves cleaning the diamond in acids and examining it to make sure it meets quality standards for that manufacturer.  When we edit our manuscript, this final process cleans up our words, fixes errors and makes sure that it meets...
