I used to get high on life - Until I realized life is cut with morons
The world has changed, I have changed, everything has changed. Unfortunately our culture remains, and our conformities still exist. Complacency has become the biggest problem with most people here in America, and ignorance has seem to taken over the entire world. We pray to non-existent figures in hopes of solving the problems that we can’t, we dismiss obvious facts in order to protect ourselves and preserve our own mental well-being. One day I was asked: Why do I get high? Why don’t I just enjoy life? Get high on life! When I was a tiny, naive jovial toddler, I used to get high on life - until one day I realized that life is cut with morons. Now by no means am I insinuating my use of cocaine (which as of now is non-existent), but if life were a big pile of cocaine, it certainly would be cut down heavily with baking soda… or anything impure that blends. Our society is falling - we’ve put too much power into the hands of our government, and expected them to solve everything; and when they don’t, all we do is complain. Thats nice, complain. We live in a democracy - though not a true one, our thoughts and views can still be heard, usually by some form of unconventional participation. What I wonder is, if we’re always complaining, why aren’t we participating?
The problems of the world have become too much for me. My only desire is to change it for the better, but I’m completely aware that a blog read only by friends and family won’t help that progress I hope for. I’ve found that without change, life is only monotonous, repetetive, frustrating, and unrewarding. Thats when I erradicate those problems from my life - by finding any way to get high. Judge me as you will, but without my indulgences, my legs would crumble without my crutch, since the world can’t seem to grasp reality anymore, and my brain simply can’t fathom the idea of reality that we have built up over the years. Revolution must come, or society will continue on its downward slope.
I know, I sound like a counter-cultured college student now. Label me as you will. But you can’t argue the direction of the world. I hope you’ve found a way to pay off all those bills piling up on your counter when you can’t even get a job at Panera, the grocery store, or even McDonalds for Christ sakes. Your life is withering, and your putting all your faith in a man who promises change, but doesn’t tell you what he’ll change and how he’ll do it. When you aren’t saved, and dug out of your hole within the next few years, perhaps you will wake up and start seeing the immediate change in our cultural and social patterns that need to take effect. Until then, keep listening to the Beatles for some sort of direction.
