CBC Radio interview, Toronto, Canada
From:  yours2share.com
I’ve just had an email from Barbara Langford in Toronto, Canada, who I wrote about in my last blog post about dog sharing.  She and Kristen were interviewed by CBC Radio in Toronto earlier this week.  You can listen to the CBC radio interview here for the next few days. Barbara shares a cockerpoo called Charley with Kristen and is very keen to promote the idea of sharing dogs.  yours2share is very pleased to help her. Read Full Story
Dog sharing, Toronto, Canada
From:  yours2share.com
Barbara, Kristin and Charlie Dr. Barbara Langford from Toronto, Canada recently contacted me because she has been so pleased with a dogsharing arrangement and wants to help other people to share dogs. Like me, she dislikes the concept of “renting” a dog that some agencies are promoting. We both believe that a dog should be shared by no more than two households so that the dog has consistency and routine. She also liked my dog share guidance notes – always good to hear. She has put... Read Full Story

Eddie Izzard – How many marathons?!?
From:  yours2share.com
This has little to do with yours2share, but I have to do my bit to support the amazing task that Eddie Izzard has given himself running 42 marathons or 1100 miles, one marathan a day with just one day a week off. He’s not an experienced runner, and he only had 5 weeks training…. He must be mad, but sometimes it’s good to make mad decisions and then just get on with it (maybe that’s why I empathise, running yours2share is a lightly mad thing to do).  It’s extraord... Farm shares
From:  yours2share.com
I’d heard of cow sharing, where people pay for the purchase and upkeep of a whole, half or quarter of a cow which is then managed by a farmer, and this has always seemed such an easy idea. I’d love to find someone to keep a chicken for me alongside their other chickens and as we will be moving to a permanent home shortly I may try harder to find someone locally that will do this.  We probably only eat half a dozen eggs a week and that equates to about one hen, and you have to have... Please vote for me!
From:  yours2share.com
This is a shameless plea for a little help! I’ve been shortlisted for the O2 Grazia awards and the winner will be the one who gets the most votes. So please vote for me here: http://o2-business.com/business/Vote.aspx You need to click on “East” to see me and then click the button “Vote for this Grazia candidate” for yours2share. You will need to enter your email so they can (attempt to) stop multiple entries. I was surprised that there was no statement saying that the email address wouldn’t ... Read Full Story
Inspired Times
From:  yours2share.com
I came across this interesting website earlier this week- Inspired Times.  (Inspired name too.)  It seems to accord with many of yours2share’s objectives and more besides.  Following one of its threads, I ended up on a website helping people to set up street parties, and here are their top tips for holding a street party One of the great aspects of yours2share is the creation of communities sharing an asset: this is usually the benefit that members of established syndicates mention fir... Boat share case study
From:  yours2share.com
I’ve just added another yours2share case study about a successful boat share sale made just a few months ago. Margaret Flatman from Norwich in Norfolk sold her 1/5th share in a Hunter Legend 340 based in Nidri, Lefkas, Greece to Peter Dow from Topsham, near Exeter in Devon.  The share was advertised in October 2008 and was sold the following month. I really appreciate Margaret and Peter’s help in allowing me to use them as a case study. Read Full Story
Good press
From:  yours2share.com
Last Tuesday, I was interviewed by two journalists writing for completely different newspapers: The Beccles and Bungay Journal, our local newspaper and the Washington Post. First of all I was interviewed by Dan Haynes of the Beccles and Bungay Journal regarding the Barclays Trading Places Awards, for which yours2share is the last 100.  There is more about this here. The second interview was by Nancy Trejos of the Washington Post.  I didn’t get a mention in the final article about swap... Read Full Story
Exploding computers
From:  yours2share.com
It’s not been a good week.  It started so well here in yours2share mansions, with the mention in the Sunday Times and a great new case study (not quite ready yet, but I’ll probably be posting it next week). However on Tuesday afternoon, in the middle of a Skype call to a poor unsuspecting yours2share member, my laptop died.  A well looked after, 14 month old, Sony Vaio, protested by a surge suppressor, should not instantaneously fry its motherboard, but mine has.  Sony has not e...
