Some late quick hits from Monday… Ducks coach Randy Carlyle held a rare late afternoon practice to get his team acclimated to East Coast time. The idea is to adjust to game-time conditions as Wednesday’s game will start at 4 p.m. PST. The Ducks will travel most of Tuesday and probably won’t practice. It’s looking like a stellar year for OC surfers, who could be taking up a pretty big number of slots on next year’s World Tour. Two San Clemente surfers killed it this weekend, with Patrick Gudauskas going to the semi-finals in a contest at the Canary Islands, and Nate Yeomans dominating at the O’Neill Cold Water Classic. The Ducks re-assigned goaltender Justin Pogge to Bakersfield of the East Coast Hockey League on Monday. That would certainly clear the way for Jean-Sebastien Giguere to come back from a nagging groin-muscle injury, as the move comes a day before the team leaves for a four-game road trip. Pogge did not play appear in a game for the Ducks during his stint as backup to Jonas Hiller.  He has gone 2-1 with a 2.10 goals-against average with the Condors.
