Obama Discusses Economy At Maryland Manufacturing Plant And Announces Gene Sperling As Economic Council Head
U.S. President Barack Obama (C) introduces Heather Higginbottom (L) as Deputy Director of the Office of Management and Budget, Gene Sperling (2nd L) as the new director of the Council of Economic Advisors, Katharine Abraham (2nd R) as a member of the council and Jason Furman as Assistant to the President for Economic Policy and Principal Deputy Director of the National Economic Councill during a visit to Thompson Creek Manufacturing January 7, 2011 in Landover, Maryland. After touring the energy-efficient window manufacturing business, Obama introduce the new members of the economic team and talked about the new jobs numbers, which lowered the national unemployment rate from 9.8 to 9.4 percent.
