New Ministers Sworn In After National Party Cabinet Reshuffle

Bill English announced his new-look cabinet on Sunday, with deputy Prime Minister Paula Bennett picking up the Women's Affairs, Police and Tourism portfolios. Gerry Brownlee has retained Christchurch regeneration, while Simon Bridges has been given economic development in addition to transport. Amy Adams has been given social housing and associate finance, while Hekia Parata and Murray McCully will keep their folios until May 1, when they will move to the backbench. Both have announced their intention to retire at the next election. Bill English was voted by the National Party caucus to become Prime Minister following John Key's shock resignation on 5 December.
