100th Anniversary Of The Battle Of Passchendaele Is Commemorated In Ypres

King Philippe of Belgium and Prince Charles, Prince of Wales arrive at the Commonwealth War Graves Commisions's Tyne Cot Cemetery ahead of a ceremony on July 31, 2017 in Ypres, Belgium. Dignitaries and descendants of those who fought are gathering to mark the centenary of Passchendaele, the third battle of Ypres. The campaign saw intense fighting over three months, one week and three days with historians currently agreeing that both sides suffered losses of around 260,000 casualties each.
