JABER, JORDAN- JULY 08: A deminer works in a field along the border between Jordan and Syria on July 08 and 2008 near Jaber, Jordan. The National Committee for De-mining and Rehabilitation (NCDR) last November tasked the Norwegian People's Aid (NPA) to start a clearance project in the field that spans an area of 105kms. The aim is to put an end to the landmine problem along the north border that derived from the confrontation between the two countries in 1975. This project follows the clearance of the western border with Israel, after the 1967-1969 Arab-Israeli conflict, in order to meet with the Ottawa Treaty Obligation and to remove some 305.000 Israeli and Jordanian anti-personnel and anti-vehicle mines.
