Clashes Continue As Red Shirts Parade Coffins In Bangkok
A motorcade of Red Shirt supporters of former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra gather during a funeral procession for the victims of clashes between protestors and Thai security forces on April 12, 2010 in downtown Bangkok, Thailand. Violent clashes were sparked when Thai security forces launched a crackdown on anti-government protesters in Bangkok on April 10. Protestors responded in kind hurling petrol bombs and grenades. The death toll from the clashes has climbed to 21 including 4 soldiers, with more than 800 people injured. Government spokesman Panitan Wattanayagorn claimed live rounds were not fired against protestors but a Reuters journalist, Hiro Muramoto was shot dead during clashes last night, April 11.
