Tax office agents and police lead former IMF chief Rodrigo Rato into a car after raiding his private office in fraud probe on April 16, 2015 in Madrid, Spain. Spain's Tax Authorities detained Rodrigo Rato, the former International Monetary Fund chief and former Peoples Party's minister, and searched his home and private office over suspected fraud and money laundering. Two days ago it emerged that Rato had applied for the 2012 tax amnesty approved by Mariano Rajoy's government. Rato is also being investigated for his former role as chairman of Spanish bank Bankia, which had to be bailed out in 2012.
