43 White Crosses Mark Chicago Shooting Fatalities Of 2017

Forty-three crosses sit in a vacant lot in the Englewood neighborhood on January 23, 2017 in Chicago, Illinois. Each cross, created by Greg Zanis, represents a victim of murder in Chicago in 2017. Chicago's violence attracted international attention in 2016 when the city recorded 742 murders. At least six people were killed and 47 wounded in shootings across the city this weekend.
