Cory Lidle crashed his plane into The Belaire condominiums in New York City on Oct 11th, 2006. Lidle recently pitched one and a half innings in the final game of the Division Series against the Detroit Tigers and gave up 3 earned runs.  He had a 12-10 regular-season record with a 4.85 ERA. When you take off in a light airplane, you want to get to the highest speed and highest altitude, as soon as possible !  Cory made the mistake, of many New Pilots, of taking off at a Low Speed, and making Turns, at a Low Altitude !  Taking turns at a low speed, and at a low altitude, will cause any light Airplane to fall out of the Sky !  Cory should have taken off with the Engine gunned, and he should have aimed for a very High Altitude, as soon as possible, instead of going sight seeing...
