Draco Malfoy a.k.a. The Amazing Bouncing Ferret, is set to join Season 3 of The Flash as a series regular. According to TVLine, the British actor will step into the role of Julian Dorn, a CSI at the Central City Police Department who suspects there's "more to Barry Allen than just his good guy reputation."

It's not exactly clear, however, whether his character will be one of the good guys or a villain on The CW superhero show. Nor is it clear how his character will play into the seminal Flashpoint storyline that was teased earlier this month. Still, the casting is exciting news for fans who want to see Draco Malfoy maybe, hopefully wreak some havoc in superhero land.

Season 3 of The Flash premieres Oct. 4. We saw him get his arm cut off. We saw him tossed out a window from really high up in a Coruscant skyscraper. But did he really die? Samuel L. Jackson doesn't think so.

During a recent Twitter Q&A hosted by IMDb, Jackson was asked whose idea it was to kill off Mace Windu. Sam answered that "as in most Star Wars movies, it was George Lucas' idea to kill Mace Windu," but he added, "In my mind, I'm not dead. Jedis can fall from incredibly high distances and not die."

.@starwarsgirl1 #IMDbAskSamJackson pic.twitter.com/aSZ0uwHUpz
— Samuel L. And there’s a long history of one-handed Jedi. So why not?" He even says he told George Lucas his take on the situation, and got a positive response. "George is like, ‘I’m okay with that. You can be alive."

Now if Lucas considers Windu alive, does that open the door for him to pop up somewhere else in the Star Wars universe? After all, it happened with Darth Maul (as anyone who's seen Clone Wars or Rebels can attest), so it's not out of the question. So it's no surprise that the brains behind the animated classic went through a few names for the seven dwarfs that didn't make the cut. Newly revealed artwork that just sold at auction reveals 16 dwarf names that weren't used in the final film along with preliminary sketches for a few of the characters.

The art was sold through Bonhams auction house, where Dr Catherine Williamson, director entertainment memorabilia, told The Mirror, "I think the guys at Disney will be relieved that the names of the dwarfs were changed at the last minute.

"I'm sure they wouldn't have offended sensibilities back in the 1930s but it would be a different story today. The original ones aren't as good as what they eventually came up with." She added: "The great thing about the names they used is that they're not just physical references, they're emotional. On a show like Game of Thrones, where so much of the copious source material is left on the bench, why waste time on the dysfunctional Tarly clan and Sam at the Citadel?

The answer is within the question. The Game of Thrones writers simply don't waste scenes. Nearly everything is included for a reason, even if it looks meaningless. In fact, Sam and Gilly were barely included in season six at all this year. They appear in only three episodes so their appearances are wholly important to the show.

In "Oathbreaker," the third episode this year, Sam and Gilly are headed to Oldtown on a ship, but there's no place for a woman and child there so the couple decide to make a detour to Horn Hill, Sam's ancestral home.

In episode six, "Blood of my Blood," they arrive to a warm welcome, but the plan for Gilly to stay blows up when she reveals she's a Wildling. Sam's hateful father won't tolerate it. Unwilling to stand his daddy's shit any longer, the younger Tarly bolts for the Citadel, rules be damned, with Gilly and little Sam in tow. Oh, and for good measure he steals his father's sword, Heartsbane, a behemoth of Valyrian steel.

Finally, in "The Winds of Winter," Sam and Gilly arrive at the Citadel where Sam gets his first glimpse of the incredible library. The scene is awe-inspiring, but definitely out of place during the cavalcade of vengeance that is the season finale. Why was it included?

Sam may be cowardly and the luckiest sumbitch this side of the Narrow Sea, but he's no dummy. His education at the Citadel will prove crucial in the war to come against the White Walkers. Remember, it was Sam who discovered dragonglass could kill a Walker (we also learned this season it created them). In the books, Sam discovers "dragonsteel" (AKA Valyrian steel) can kill a Walker as well. We see it play out on the show at Hardhome when Jon uses Longclaw to pull off the feat. In short, without Sam, the Walkers' Achilles heel probably would've stayed a mystery, at least the dragonglass part.

Mysteries, especially the enemy's secrets, are Sam's mission. His path to becoming a maester at the side of Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen is set. All he has to do is keep reading, keep discovering things, keep learning about how to kill the Night King and his army of the dead. He may be George R.R. Martin's tribute to The Lord of the Rings and Samwise Gamgee, but Sam Tarly has got more than a little Gandalf in him. It's not enough to head off to war, a hero must study and understand his enemy. Sun Tzu must've said that at some point.

All images courtesy of HBO

Here are just a few of the questions I think Sam will answer or have a hand in answering during the final 13 episodes, making him a very important person. He also has Heartsbane, one of only six Valyrian steel weapons seen on the show thus far. It seems safe to say every piece of the precious metal will be needed.

Here are some study questions for Sam. We hope he's a quick study:

How were the White Walkers originally defeated?

How is Valyrian steel made?

What is the magic inside the Wall?

How was the Wall built?

How else can the dead be killed?

Sam is still around because he's going to come up with an important piece of strategy that'll help Jon against the dead. He's not headed out for battle. He's part of the braintrust. Hell, he and Bran are the braintrust. I can also see their paths crossing at some point. Nobody is defeating the White Walkers without them.

Thu, 30 Jun 2016 11:41:50 -0700 http://www.zimbio.com/Beyond+the+Tube/articles/PzFWiP2eo64/Samwell+Tarly+Essential+End+Game+Thrones PzFWiP2eo64 Emma Watson's Ringtone Is a Tina Turner Jam

Capitol

Emma Watson is the kind of person who thinks about little details — details like finding a dress with tasteful white piping, or switching her cell phone's ringtone to something cool like Tina Turner's 1989 hit single "Steamy Windows." Seriously.

Rationality is a foreign concept for the residents of Rosewood, so trying to make sense of anything on Pretty Little Liars can lead to lots of spontaneous eye rolls and revised history. Now that there are two As on the show, things have gotten even murkier than usual. The Liars are running around like frantic, perfectly-styled dummies who keep digging themselves into a deeper hole every season. (They also don't know how to dial 911 or how to ask any of their parents for help.)

One Liar, however, has always seemed a bit out of place. Being the smartest in this bunch isn't saying much, but Spencer Hastings (Troian Bellisario) has always proven herself to be above the pack in many different ways. She's unpredictable, razor-tongued, and emotionally unstable. Perhaps after being victimized by A all these years, something inside Spencer just flipped and she transformed into what she feared most: a raging villain with a questionably-constructed motive.

Not so convinced? Well don't fret just yet! We've collected evidence that proves Spencer is, in fact, the big bad Uber A we've all been waiting for.

1. For some, reason Caleb and Spencer abandoned all rationale and agreed to go along with this. Later, Hanna was kidnapped and everything went to hell. On the surface, Spencer felt incredibly guilty about Hanna's disappearance because she helped execute the plan from pretty much the beginning. Hanna and Caleb could've never figured things out on their own. So Spencer knew the ins-and-outs of this disastrous idea for quite some time. She insisted that Hanna and Caleb not go at it alone. She wanted to help. Of course, Caleb wouldn't suspect his girlfriend was a lunatic. Of course, Hanna wouldn't suspect that one of her best friends was perfectly fine with using her as collateral damage. The coast was clear. All Spencer needed was an accomplice to grab Hanna so she could act stunned when it all played out.

2. After not being allowed to shower and being quarantined in a creepy cell, Hanna had a rather lucid dream in which she saw Spencer. “Dream Spencer” was reassuring and sweet, providing Hanna with the strength she needed to escape. However, there were some major inconsistencies in this scene.

There's something eerie and all too familiar about this scenario. It feels too real to be a dream or a hallucination. There was no change in color or any visual effects that indicated Hanna had entered a dream state. Plus, this wouldn't be the first time Pretty Little Liars pulled a “HEY, WE WERE JUST KIDDING! THAT WASN'T ACTUALLY A DREAM!” thing on us. Remember, when Hanna got hit by a car and ended up in the hospital? At the time, Hanna thought she had a hallucination about Ali, but we later discovered that Ali was alive and that cryptic conversation was actually real. So this dream with Spencer could be just as real and Hanna just doesn't know that yet.

Also, Spencer referred to Uber A as “A.D.” in Hanna's dream, but the Liars didn't receive the text with A.D.'s initials until after Hanna was kidnapped. So how did Dream Spencer happen to know this important detail? There's no way Hanna's subconscious would be privy to this information.

Oh, and “Dream Spencer” was not sporting bangs which have basically become “Real Life” Spencer's definitive feature this season. Why would Hanna dream of a bang-less Spencer? There could be another explanation for all of this. What if the person in the cell wasn't Spencer, but rather her ally? What if Spencer and Melissa are in cahoots, and it was Melissa wearing a “Spencer” mask that Hanna saw? We all know how much Uber A loves wearing masks.

Or maybe — just maybe — Spencer has a twin! Hey, why not? Mary Drake seemed to pop out of nowhere when we were all waiting around for Ali's twin to drop out of the sky. This twin could be Spencer's perfect ally.

3. Well, apart from Peter Hastings and Jessica DiLaurentis' affair (which produced Jason), these two families are experts at repressing their feelings and producing pathological liars. We know that Spencer's got a crazy side. She was admitted into Radley Sanitarium, and maybe she never overcame her demons? Maybe the darkness simmering in the back of her head has kicked into full gear?

Back in Season 6, Spencer also experienced a dream where she found herself inside Radley. She was chasing a little girl around and watching her dance in an abandoned, dusty room. The little girl (Maddie Ziegler) looked a lot like Spencer. Perhaps she's a metaphor for some traumatic memory that Spencer has repressed? Maybe Spencer doesn't want to ignore those feelings anymore, and the time for revenge is now.

Guess who else was admitted into Radley? Mary Drake. What if there's a bigger connection here? What if Mary Drake and Spencer have known each other longer? Could it be possible that Mary Drake is Spencer's mother? Yeah, that sounds a bit bonkers, but there's something beneath the surface during all of their shared scenes. Physically Spencer looks WAY more like Mary Drake than Veronica Hastings. Mary Drake and Spencer also have tense, complicated relationships with their sisters, and they are both slightly unhinged. Clearly, these two ladies are always two steps ahead of everyone else.

4. Recently, Uber A sent a text that said: “I don't lurk in the shadows. I hide in plain sight.” Hmm, okay. Oh, and Spencer previously referenced Basic Instinct for the ingenuity of the plot.

Spencer: “Uh, drugging yourself is the best alibi ever. Classic Sharon Stone move. Remember that movie, Basic Instinct? No. No. She wrote a murder mystery novel to cover up a crime that she was about to commit. It was actually kind of genius.”

So why does this matter? Well, Spencer wrote a criminology paper back when she was in Georgetown, and the murder described in the paper was exactly how Charlotte died. Spencer freaked out and told Caleb that someone was trying to set her up. Wow, how convenient! Seems more like the perfect alibi to play victim again.

Then there was the time Spencer dressed up as Mary Queen of Scots during one of the Halloween episodes. Who cares, you may be wondering? Just hold your horses, okay! Mary Queen of Scots was a brilliant and ambitious woman who plotted to assassinate Queen Elizabeth I, so she could get her grubby hands on the throne. Maybe Spencer wants her time in the spotlight now? Ali better watch out because Spencer is coming straight for her head.

Wed, 29 Jun 2016 16:20:17 -0700 http://www.zimbio.com/Pretty+Little+Liars/articles/-0qk35NRaaS/Spencer+Uber+Pretty+Little+Liars+Got+Everyone -0qk35NRaaS Who is Jon Snow's Father?

<img src="http://www3.pictures.zimbio.com/mp/c7d1fZPa_0Xl.jpg" title="Game of Thrones" alt="Jon Snow and Rhaegar Targaryen. It never seemed true. Ned Stark had a bastard son? The most honorable man in Westeros wasn't capable of betraying his love, Catelyn, but he was capable of lying to her. Not to mention everyone else...for his other love, his sister. Jon Snow was never Ned's bastard boy. He was his nephew, born into revolution, the result of Lyanna's affair, but with who?

Before we answer that question, let's back up and start at the beginning.

About 20 years before Jon Snow was declared King in the North, his mother was named "Queen of Love and Beauty" at a grand tournament held by Lord Whent of Harrenhal. She was chosen by the tournament's winner: the prince of Westeros, Rhaegar Targaryen. Now, Rhaegar was married to Elia Martell (Oberyn's sister, killed by the Mountain) and ignoring his wife for this honor in favor of another woman sent shockwaves through those in attendance. Clearly, Rhaegar had eyes for Lyanna. Ned later referred to it as "the moment when all smiles died."

The tourney at Harrenhal. (Paolo Puggioni, The World of Ice and Fire)

An unknown time later, Lyanna was supposedly kidnapped and raped. Her husband Robert Baratheon blamed Rhaegar and began Robert's Rebellion, which wiped out the Targaryens and put Robert on the Iron Throne. Robert killed Rhaegar himself during the Battle of the Trident and Lord of Winterfell Ned Stark went to Dorne in search of his sister. The Tower of Joy flashbacks from the show depict what happened. Lyanna died in the Tower giving birth to Jon (who should have been named "Jon Sand" due to his birthplace) and entrusted him to Ned. Her dying words on the show are "His name is Jaehaerys (?). If Robert finds out, he'll kill him. You know he will. You have to protect him. Promise me, Ned. Promise me. Promise me, Ned. Promise me."

Ned kept his promise. He raised Jon as his own and never told anyone the true story. That's where the show begins.

HBO

Lyanna's death was tragic and awful, but was likely not the result of a course of events that began with a rape. Rhaegar was known as a poet and an artist, not a madman sexual abuser. The feeling you get from reading about these characters in the books is that Jon Snow was the product of a true affair between his adulterous parents. Rhaegar seemed to love Lyanna. R + L = J. Rhaegar is Jon's father. And Jon is the Song of Ice and Fire.

However...

What Game of Thrones did not do in the final Tower of Joy flashback was confirm the identity of Jon's father. Why would they give us so much and leave out this crucial detail? Some book readers have been waiting 20 years for this confirmation. Why not give us everything?

This is the paranoid thinking of a Thrones fan. I'm 99 percent sure Jon's dad is Rhaegar, but anything left unsaid is cause for concern. If the father isn't R, the next suspect is A, his father Aerys the Mad King. Why? Aerys lusted after many women he shouldn't have and Lyanna was considered beautiful by everyone. He easily could've instigated her abduction and raped her himself. He took a very defensive position after Lyanna disappeared and essentially sunk his entire house over the situation. Was he defending his accused son, or himself? But the main piece of circumstantial evidence is how Jon was born. Aerys and his wife, Queen Rhaella, always had troubled pregnancies so Lyanna's own trouble, which led to her death, may point to the Mad King. It's flimsy, but without the show saying it, we cannot confirm it's not Aerys. Although, it better not be.

UPDATE: HBO just released a graphic that shows Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen as Jon's parents. That final Season 6 episode got us thinking about the show's greatest payoff moments — the moments when you pumped your fist, shouted, "YES!"
