From time to time in order to maintain fashion cred (and my numero uno Google search rank for the term), I get back to the central theme of this blog.

So today, as chilly air is streaming down down over the continent, and snow flakes falling as far south as Dallas, it is a good time to warm your hearts, souls, and whatever, with a quick jaunt down the herstorical lane of short shorts.

The 1970's are known as one of the more tacky periods in fashion history. And with stuff like leisure suits the tag is well justified:

But, with the confluence of the sexual revolution and Second Wave Feminism --girls worldwide started strutting out in short shorts, or in the quaint sexist terminology of the time, hot pants.

and of course, in the American South, and the birth of the term Daisy Dukes:

Catherine Bach may have been the original Daisy Duke, but even though those tight polyester mini-pantaloons might have been quite trendy, they are not really daisy dukes.

Thats better, and this time it does not appear Miss Bach was wearing pantyhose under her shorts, which is, by any standard , quite tacky.

Everyone wore hot pants.

If you log onto any of the Mac's fan based web sites there have been multiple "rumours" of a tour. I would love to see this happen. Hopefully the Mrs. (Buckingham) will stay home with the kiddies. Lindsey & Stevie still have some soul searching to do...and I want to see this stuff on youtube! Any fellow shippers out there? Buckingham Nicks fans know what I mean. Lindsey's "Go Your Own Way" came long before Justin's "Cry Me a River". Nothing like an angry breakup.
