Condi Rice Warns Russia To Respect Georgia Borders

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice warned the Russian government the world would not stand by idly and watch it redraw the boundaries of Europe. “A new line in europe where Russia somehow asserts that there are those who cannot pt for a trans-Atlantic ffuture is unacceptable.” She demanded that Russia withdraw its forces from Georgia while NATO reaffirmed its offer of membership to the Georgians. NATO insisted it would send aid to help restore conditions in Georgia to what existed prior to outbreak of hostilities. NATO Secretary-General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer said relations with Russia would be limited until its troops withdraw from Georgia. “There can be no business as usual with Russia under the present circumstances.”

There is talk of observers to monitor the situation in Russian occupied Georgia. Somehow, lost in the rhetoric of anger is any awareness of how the United States and NATO helped create conditions for discord. Georgia does not belong in NATO at this juncture in history. It is time to end construction of military bases in Poland and the Czech Republic and to extend membership in NATO to Russia.

US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was asked about Iran cutting off oil if attacked, including blocking the Strait of Hormuz.

She said, "I don't know what the Iranians would do without the revenue that they receive from selling oil. And so the idea that they would somehow deprive the world of Iranian oil exports would have to have a pretty devastating effect on Iran itself."

Okay, if she believes that Iran would not cut off oil and wouldn't block the Strait because it would be devastating to the Iranian economy, why does she think they would commit suicide by using atomic weapons against Israel, not that it has been shown anywhere that the Iranians are in fact developing any such weapon?

I grant that many people remain somewhat rational until pushed. Well, in that case, wouldn't the Israelis bombing Iran be enough for the Iranians to take a hard economic hit to give a hard economic hit? What makes Rice think that the Iranians can't take what they could dish out to the U.S. for backing the Israelis in an attack based upon nothing more than self-delusional hysteria designed to grant them supremacy over the whole Middle East?

The Righteous Appeal to Softening Hearts

The Real Liberal Christian Church is completely dependent upon charitable gifts, offerings, and collections of all sizes to cover operating expenses, to continue our outreach program, and most importantly to build up funds needed to create the Christian Commons (explained in brief below).
All offerings beyond meeting the Church's very low operating budget will go into the Land and Building Fund.
The Church will first employ that Fund to acquire arable land (Christian Commons) where dedicated real Christians will live and, among all the other things called for by Jesus, grow food and make clothes and things for themselves and the poor and needy. The Christian Commons will help supply local food banks and will start food banks where necessary. The Commons is an integral part of the long-term solution for feeding the lambs and sheep of Jesus Christ (as he directed, per the Gospel of John) and for eventually feeding all the children of God, which includes everyone if they will but receive it.

Enough Christian Commons can and will house, clothe, and feed the poor for free and do all the rest of the commandments of Jesus Christ. So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs. — John 21:15.
The Christian Commons will be beacons of light.
Those Commons will shine the movement of the Holy Spirit of truth that is unselfish love.

Envision the world covered by Christian Commons full of compassion and the spirit of giving and sharing — bringing forth. Let us all be moved together by the spirit of mercy as called for by Jesus Christ. It is the New Commandment in action. We can come together in peace, generosity, strength, enthusiasm, and purity of heart, mind, body, and soul.

It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. — Mark 10:25.
Then he is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom. — Job 33:24.
The ransom of a man's life are his riches.... — Proverbs 13:8. This does not mean that one may simply use his or her money to purchase a ticket to Heaven. It means unselfishness is the only right spirit. Giving and sharing indifferently or out of selfish fears of Hell and damnation is not the right spirit. However, how many people will actually give and share where they are not coerced to do so unless they are truly moved by compassion? We say that in the absence of coercion or huge and immediate miraculous signs, people give and share out of faith. They give, because they believe that what Jesus has taught and what he still exemplifies is moral and its opposite is immoral.

No wonder Russia is paying no attention to President Bush and Sec. of State Rice on their paper tiger threats about what the U.S. will do if Russia doesn't pullback on their invasion of Georgia.

The United States doesn't have a military that can do a damn thing about what Russia is doing.

The U .S. military is stretched way beyond their capabilities now and military commanders are crying for more troops for Afghanistan, but the U.S. doesn't have more troops.

Russia can and will tell the U.S. to go take a flying you-know-what at the moon because Russia knows the U.S. is now a PAPER TIGER.

The U.S. has 160,000 troops tied up in Iraq and 30,000 troops bogged down in Afghanistan and nothing in the military recruitment pipeline to take on Russia in Georgia.

I just saw Wendell Goler, the FOX NEWS White House Correspondent, say Russia does not want to take on the United States.

What the hell is Goler smoking?

The United States military couldn't take on a Boy Scout troop let alone the massive Russian military.

The mainstream media has to tell the truth about how the military is stretched to the breaking point, or U.S. cities will see Russian tanks rolling through them in a heartbeat.

The ONLY reporter I've seen so far tell the truth about the Russia/Georgia conflict is Shepherd Smith of FOX NEWS. He keeps asking meatheads from the right wing how the U.S. is going to take on the Russians and he gets nothing but BS from all the neocons FOX NEWS puts on the air.

If the U.S. peacekeepers and humanitarian helpers start getting their ass kicked by the Russians, the U.S. military's hand are tied because we just don't have the troops to do a damn thing about the situation and Russia knows it.

Secretary of State of the United States of America, Condoleezza Rice, gracefully jumped of the treadmill and weightlessly ran to the bathroom. Using the softest of soaps she bathed her athletic, yet feminine body. During the delicate process, in her perfectly silky and perfected soprano voice, she sang “Sono andati? Fingevo di dormire” in a duet with Angela Gheorghiu, who’s voice was reproduced by BeoSound 1 from Bang & Olufsen with excellent fidelity. Mimi sung by these two women was nothing short of magic, and yet very few people heard and even fewer knew. Secretary of State got out of the bath tub and stood in front of the mirror. The room was lit in magical light gently oozing from two Girandole chandeliers, each tastefully placed to the side of the mirror. Condoleezza Rice rubbed lotion into her skin and completed the morning ritual by spraying just the right amount of Lancome Hypnose on the lower part of the neck. Today she would wear the new Oscar de la Renta skirt suit. Ready for the day in no more than an hour at 9:00 AM the Secretary of State was ready for her weekly breakfast with the dames. On her way to the door, she ran her fingers across the keys on the Steinway & Sons grand piano and departed leaving the sound suspended in the air.

Somewhere in other parts of town the wife of the presumprive GOP presidential candidate, Cindy McCain, the New York Senator Hillary Clinton and the Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi were too preparing for their breakfast with Condoleezza. Their routine was remarkably similar and consisted of pressing a button on an automated pant suit selector that was networked to the other two to avoid color matching fashion fopahs. The three dames amply and simultaneously applied Chanel #5 to their frames and mechanically drove to the cafe, where Condoleezza Rice, the woman, was waiting for them as she glanced through the fresh issue of the Financial Times.

WASHINGTON POST: AFTER WARNINGS TO MOSCOW, US HAS FEW OPTIONS

The Washington Post is reiterating what this blogger said in a commentary on Wednesday when it comes to U.S. options regarding the conflict between Russia and Georgia.

The U.S. doesn't have the resources or the will to take on Russia and so whatever is coming out of the Bush White House is just more smoke and mirrors.

Someday some enterprising reporter from the mainstream media will level with the American public and spell out just how depleted the U.S. military is after seven years in Afghanistan and five years in Iraq.

There is absolutely no way the U.S. could take on Russia with our military begging for more recruits and in dire need of new equipment.

The Bush administration mixed strong rhetoric with modest action yesterday in response to Russia's continued military incursion in Georgia, warning that Moscow's international aspirations are threatened if it does not honor a negotiated cease-fire in the conflict.

President Bush announced the start of a humanitarian aid program for Georgia using U.S. military airplanes and ships, although officials said the effort so far includes only two scheduled flights. One shipment arrived later yesterday and another is to land today. He also dispatched Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice for a diplomatic trip that will take her to Paris and then to Georgia's capital of Tbilisi to show "America's unwavering support."

"The United States stands with the democratically elected government of Georgia," Bush said during an appearance at the White House. "We insist that the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia be respected."

Yet Bush's statement, along with the moderate measures that came with it, served to underscore the limited options available to the United States, which has neither the wherewithal nor the willingness to enter into a military conflict with Russia on its territorial border.
