    <description>posted by ccassidy&lt;br&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;img class=&quot;zName t_Left&quot; src=&quot;http://www4.pictures.gi.zimbio.com/NCAA+Basketball+Tournament+Little+Rock+First+WO5DbG1p8cll.jpg&quot; border=&quot;0&quot; title=&quot;Jack McClinton&quot; width=&quot;320&quot; height=&quot;233&quot; /&gt;This 6-1 junior from Baltimore is the Hurricane&amp;#39;s leading scorer at over 17 points per game and is leading Miami as they enter the second round of the 2008 NCAA March Madness tournament.&amp;nbsp; Here are five things you need to know about McClinton:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1.&amp;nbsp; McClinton didn&amp;#39;t start for his high school team until his senior year, and received no scholarship offers until he played at a prep school from Connecticut.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2.&amp;nbsp; Began his college career at Siena, where he averaged over 13 points a game, before transferring to Miami after a coaching change.&amp;nbsp; As a result of NCAA regulations, McClinton was forced to sit out the 2005-06 season.&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;3.&amp;nbsp; Though he calls himself a &amp;quot;late bloomer,&amp;quot; McClinton began his career with Miami on fire and didn&amp;#39;t let up.&amp;nbsp; He ended the season with a 16.7 points per game average, a three point improvement from his season with Siena despite playing against the tougher competition of the ACC.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;4.&amp;nbsp; Named to the ACC Academic First Team, McClinton is a 3.0 student with a sports administration major.&amp;nbsp; This is in addition to his selection as First Team All-ACC.&amp;nbsp; He led the ACC in three point shooting and ranked fifth in scoring.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;5.&amp;nbsp; Scored nearly half of Miami&amp;#39;s points in their win over Saint Mary&amp;#39;s in the first round of the 2008 NCAA Tournament.&amp;nbsp; He went 3-6 from 3, was a perfect 11-11 from the line and shot 12-19 from the field.&amp;nbsp; The 38 points he scored are the second most in the 2008 Tournament&amp;#39;s first round.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Check out this highlight of Jack McClinton&amp;#39;s &lt;a  href=&quot;/pilot?ZURL=%2Frss%2FJack%2BMcClinton%2Farticles&amp;URL=http%3A%2F%2Fyoutube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3D-LaICmy3Cdk&quot; title=&quot;Hurricanes beating St. Mary's&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;Hurricanes beating St. Mary&amp;#39;s&lt;/a&gt;  in the first round of the 2008 Tournament.</description>
