Celebrating 25 Years Of "Everybody!!!

It may seem like only yesterday but 25 years ago on April 24, 1982, Sire Records honcho Seymour Stein released a single called "EVERYBODY" on Warner Bros. Records by an unknown singer from Rochester, Michigan by the name of Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone. To say the world would never be the same is an understatement. The song went on to become a huge dancefloor hit and was heard all over the radio in the Summer of 1982. That little girl from Michigan would go on to become one of the most famous entertainers and cultural icons in history - selling close to 200 million records and remaining a star of enormous magnitude and influence for the next 25 years. She's just getting started. Long Live the Queen and Happy Anniversary to Madonna.

so my dear CAMPers, i hope you have already been inspired to embrace your fabulousness by someone as fabulously inspiring as madonna has been to me. if you haven't, yet, i believe christina aguilera, britney spears, pink and avril lavigne are still up for grabs.

Madonna's

11th studio album – and her last with Warner Bros – will be named Licorice, stateside reports have said.
Former Billboard editor Larry Flick's OutQ radio show said the 13-track album would be released next April.
Two of the Queen of Pop's new tracks also got an airing; Candy Shop and the Kanye West-featuring The Beat Goes On.
According to fan websites, Justin Timberlake, Timbaland and Pharrell Williams all guest on the new CD.
OutQ also claimed that Licorice, understood to have been presented to Warner Bros bosses this week, will include a reworked version of The Devil Wouldn't Recognise You.
Licorice is set to be Madonna's last studio album with Warner Bros, not withstanding a new greatest hits collection, before she begins her ten-year contract with Artist Nation.

Procter & Gamble want to create a younger, fresher image for its Old Spice brand,

The company hired the hip ad agency Wieden + Kennedy to launch a new and racy ad campaign for the brand. The crew at Wieden + Kennedy don't come cheap and the cost of media to reach the young, hipster audience is brutal on the budget.

This move by P&G reminds me of the classic 80's movie, WORKING GIRL. Stay with me...there's a point.

In the movie, Joan Cusack tells yuppie wanna be Melanie Griffith, that "just because you dance and sing in your underwear, doesn't mean you're Madonna".

P&G, you can dress up Old Spice all you want...but it still smells like...OLD SPICE. Call me negative but you can only do so much with cool advertising. Tell me I'm wrong.

Madonna's Hard Candy is coming -- order yours today!

On March 17, 2008 the first single "4 Minutes" (a duet with Justin Timberlake and also featuring Timbaland) was released digitally.

"The album will be released on 28 April 2008 in the United Kingdom and most other European countries, and on 29 April 2008 in the United States and Canada."
