Getting ready for NH Primary Results

Sen. Barack Obama has a nine-point lead over Sen. Hillary Clinton in the state, according to a CNN-WMUR poll out yesterday.

Barack Obama seems to be leading the Democratic race in NH, according to major media polls.

Obama, the first-term senator from Illinois who won last week's Iowa caucuses, led Hillary Clinton, the New York senator and former first lady, 39 percent to 30 percent in a poll conducted Saturday through Sunday evening. Prior polls had shown the two Dems in a dead tie. Sounds like Barack's win in Iowa has given his campaign a big boost and extra momentum.

"The Iowa caucus results have convinced growing numbers of Granite State voters that Obama can really go all the way," CNN Polling Director Keating Holland said. "In December, 45 percent thought Clinton had the best chance of beating the GOP nominee. But in Saturday's poll, Clinton and Obama were tied on that measure, and now Obama has a 42 percent to 31 percent edge over Clinton on electability.

Today;s NH Primary results will have a big impact on future media coverage and grassroots activity. Keep an eye on the results as they come in later tonight.

The final tally is in. Wins go to John McCain and Hillary Clinton.

Hillary's victory came as a surprise to many who believed that Barack Obama would carry the day. Barack had momentum coming into the NH race due to his win in Iowa. However, former president Bill Clinton was able to drum up a lot of publicity for Hillary on the day of the election, which may have helped her secure the votes that she needed.

John McCain wins GOP NH Primary

Arizona Sen. John McCain won the New Hampshire Republican primary today. Call him the Comeback Kid! He is back in the race and now has a shot to build on this momentum in the up-coming elections.

"We showed the people of this country what a real comeback looks like," McCain told The Associated Press in an interview as he savored his triumph. "We're going to move on to Michigan and South Carolina and win the nomination."

63% reporting, NH Primary Results

With 63% of the votes reported, Clinton and McCain are holding leads. Earlier this morning polls were suggesting that Barack Obama could have won a victory here today, but these early results suggest that Hillary Clinton will take the Dem win in NH.

Early NH Primary Results: Obama and McCain

Dixville Notch is a very small town that wouldn't normally get much media attention. But today, Dixville Notch is front and center in the race for the White House. It's the first town to cast votes in the NH Primary Election and everyone is anxious to get early NH Primary results.

The town of Dixville votes in the early morning hours and the tally is in:
- John McCain won the GOP side of the town
- Barack Obama won the Democratic side of the town

Pollers will be trying to get a read on other towns and cities in NH all day. Check back for additional NH primary results .
